    Illinois Single tap draft tower

I'll have to look at the model, but it is a Danby! I received it as a gift. My old man bought a new combine and they threw in a kegerator.

    Illinois Single tap draft tower

I am selling the original draft tower that came with my kegerator. I have swapped it out for a 3 tap. This tower was used only briefly...has had two 1/6 barrels through it. I have cleaned the lines and tap, so it's ready to go. Includes 3" tower, chrome plated tap, 4' beer line, and mounting...

    Boulevard Grainstorm Black IPA clone

Just tried this for the first time last night. Wow. Anyone have any ideas for a clone extract recipe? They state in some of the info on their website that they used Briess Midnight Wheat extract for the dark color. This will be my next brew.

AHB Blue Moon clone kit smells kinda like a sewer while fermenting

Thanks for the response. That helps to put my mind at ease. That....and the Hopslam I just finished. :-)

AHB Blue Moon clone kit smells kinda like a sewer while fermenting

I am wondering if the smell is just the liquid yeast that I used. I have only used dry yeast up until this point.

This is what it looks like right now. 4 days after pitch.

It's in a carboy. I will try to get a pic.

AHB Blue Moon clone kit smells kinda like a sewer while fermenting

I read about adding O2 on the forum...not exactly sure where. I just thought it would give the yeast a little bump. Not a good idea?

AHB Blue Moon clone kit smells kinda like a sewer while fermenting

Brewed this on Sunday. Ferment was rolling strong within 12 hours. I used corn sugar to bump the ABV a bit, plus pumped oxygen into the wort before pitching. Those are the only two things I have done differently than my previous batches, so I am wondering if that made a difference. It smells...

Brewers Best Red Ale not bitter enough, will dry hopping the keg help?

I kegged and force carbed this red ale last weekend. It's good, but just a little too sweet (or something) for my taste. I am considering dropping a couple ounces of leaf hops in a muslin sack and throwing that in the keg. What affect will this have on the beer? Is this a crazy idea or...

    Blue moon clone help

Thanks for the help. All of the Brewers Best kits i have done thus far call for boiling the extract for the full 60 minutes. I think I have this one under control now.

    Blue moon clone help

Yes, it is an extract. According to the directions, the first hop addition would have a boil time of 45 min.

    Blue moon clone help

I am brewing the Austin Homebrew Blue Moon clone, but the total boil time in the instructions is confusing. It looks like they call for a total 45 minute boil. Is that right? I am still pretty new to brewing and all of the other kits i have done have been a 60 minute boil.

No visible fermentation activity after 12 hours

Looks like the yeast is going to work. When I got home from work this evening, there was foam starting to form on top and I heard a couple of bubbles coming from the blowoff tube. It took about 48 hours from when I pitched my yeast. Gonna relax and have a homebrew.

No visible fermentation activity after 12 hours

Thanks for the help, guys. I think my main issue is temp. It's colder now in the closet where I ferment than it has been for any of my previous batches. I am gonna try to warm the closet up a bit, but may move my carboy to a different area in the morning if I don't see anything happening. My...

No visible fermentation activity after 12 hours

I used a Danstar Dry-97. I used the same yeast a couple of weeks ago in a red ale and it was going crazy 12 hours later. I'll give it some time....I know the motto :-)
