Giving Home Brew Beers as Prizes

Yea, I have been reading up and I wouldn't even be able to ship it! That kind of stinks. Oh well...Giving away hardware will have to work.

Giving Home Brew Beers as Prizes

That was my thinking too! I was going to challenge the guys to build a cooling system to drop the temp of 5 gallons of boiling liquid to below 75 F as fast as possible without contaminating the liquid. Winner gets a case of beer. If it is not legal, then I will have to give away a computer case...

Giving Home Brew Beers as Prizes

Curses. I will do as a last ditch effort before giving up.

Giving Home Brew Beers as Prizes

I run Extreme Overclocking (computer enthusiast website). Am I legally allowed to give beer away to my forum visitors as contest prizes? I am not charging. We are assuming I can determine their age. Mark

Belgian Golden Strong Ale Pink Elephant (Delirium Tremens clone)

I don't have a direct answer for that, but I can tell you that I too forgot the S-04 when I first brewed this beer and it still turned out to be great. So, either way, you should find yourself in good shape.

Belgian Golden Strong Ale Pink Elephant (Delirium Tremens clone)

I love this beer! I have brewed this recipe twice now: The first time, I forgot to add the dry yeast! :) It happens. The smell was 100% DT. It lacked the complexity of DT, but was still awesome. The second one is still warm conditioning (another 10 days from today). I used my kegerator and...

    Ghetto Cooling Technique

That is a really good idea! I am going to freeze some bottles for next time.

    Ghetto Cooling Technique

I have been doing a lot of stove top all grain brewing (gas stove, 5 gal brews). One of the problems I have had when using my copper coil chiller is that it takes forever to get from around 90 to 70. I found a $2.99 solution rather than buying bags of ice to drop those last 20 degrees. I fill...

    Selling beer cheese?

irasnyd: it is simple and incredible. use this as your base recipe: 2 lbs sharp cheddar cheese, grated (the bags of cheese work just fine) 16 oz cream cheese 12 oz of your darkest homebrew 1/2 Tbsp garlic powder 1/2 Tbsp crushed red pepper (i use 1.5 Tbsp) 1 1/2 tsp cayenne 1/2 Tbsp...

    Selling beer cheese?

I was not planning on creating the cheese myself. I would buy the cheese I need and then mix my ingredients. I wonder if that helps me avoid the strict cheese-making laws?

    Selling beer cheese?

I have a friend who makes her own Kettle popcorn at farmers markets. She lives in my city and had to get licensed to produce food. She was told that she could use her garage to house her operation. I wonder if I would be better off going to markets with her and selling my cheese there? She...

    Selling beer cheese?

I have come to grips with the fact that I will probably not be able to sell my homebrew delights. I have created the most fantastical beer cheese using my brew. Am I legally allowed to sell it?

    Pitching Second Yeast

Due to the gravity cap on the WLP800, I am going to pitch a WLP540 Abbey this afternoon. This will allow me to disassemble my MacGyver setup and hopefully add an interesting twist to the brew.

    Pitching Second Yeast

https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f12/delerium-tremens-clone-6963/ That is the recipe I used. This is my third time making it. Last time I mixed up the grain a bit and used Coriander seeds rather than paradise. I was able to fix the temperature a bit: I have a few un-used rooms in my house. I...

    Pitching Second Yeast

Glad I didn't freak out too bad. I arrived home this afternoon and it had started fermenting! It is going slow, but steady (one bubble every 2 seconds on average). WLP800 has an optimal temp of 50-55. The best I can do is *maybe* 68. How does this change the brew?

    Pitching Second Yeast

Hello! I have brewed a Strong Belgian Pilsner. I pitched with WLP800 which is optimal @ 50-55°F (which I am unable to produce). My local brew store was out of WLP300 that I am used to so they suggested this yeast as a substitute. I didn't think much of it until two days later when it is still...

    Optimal Corny Height Clearance

@Edcculus: Good call! I will absolutely take my time. As a quick update, I have taken exact measurements and found that I have 24.5" of room before I hit freezer. Rather than folding the freezer down, I have decided that I will just bend the tray up the extra 1.5" that I need for clearance...

    Optimal Corny Height Clearance

Thanks for the posts! I used this site for the dimensions: Draft Beer Keg Size Dimensions I am considering purchasing this model: Used Cornelius and Firestone Ball Lock Kegs As you suggested, the ball-lock should have around 26" of clearance. I will take some more measurements when I get home...

    Optimal Corny Height Clearance

Hello gang. I was lucky enough to be handed a working Kenmore, stainless steel mini fridge from a family member. This mini fridge has a freezer up top which I am confident I could fold down if needed. However, I would like to avoid this if I can. Corny kegs list as being 23". This fridge...
