    Planning beer-day schedule

Nothing pressing here. But if you plan on drinking on Sunday while doing these things, my order would go like this. 1. Brew the Ale and use the glass carboy(get rid of the plastic fermenter, yuck!), use a blowoff tube into a bucket of water. 2. Bottle the beer and then clean and sanatize...

Quick help, I'm having a problem with my CO2 regulator.

It must be the pretruding screws forward when you have the regulators attatched and the tank upright, no?

Quick help, I'm having a problem with my CO2 regulator.

I just kegged for the first time and I'm trying to sanatize the tap lines. This is the first time I'm using a CO2 tank and regulators, here's the one. I conected the tank tightly to the regulators and opened up the tank. The main filled regulator went to 800. When I opened the individual...

Poll: What kind of water do you use

I use filtered tap water from the refridgerator. It's great tasting water. When I didn't have that, I use to get my water from a Reverse Osmosis filtering machine at my grocery store. You bring your own 1 gallon bottles or buy them. It was $.59 a gallon, not bad, and it's great water for brewing.

Be 4 hooking full keg to CO2, do I need to sanatize Gauges & hoses?

Ok great thanks guys. I finished my 2 - 5 gallon keg fridge just now and fired it up for the first time, and it's chillin down right now. Woohoo! :ban: What temp do you keep your fridge/beer at? I used Brittish Ale yeast in both my Stout and IPA.

Be 4 hooking full keg to CO2, do I need to sanatize Gauges & hoses?

What with the CO2 do I want to sanatize before I connect the CO2 to the kegs full of beer? Can you explain what agitating a keg is to get the CO2 into the beer? Do I just shake the keg?

Pics of my first attempt at brewing.

I use the air locks first but once the brew has life, I reomove and add a sanitized blowoff tube for each. Those are now in glass secondary's. Atleast 3 carboys are needed if you're doing double batches. You transfer into secondary in the empty carboy. Then clean the empty carboy good...

First time kegging, I have some questions.

I'm using 5 gallon Pepsi kegs where on/in the keg do I want to sanatize, the top in/out connectors and the inside? Anything else, airlock? After I connect the CO2 tank to the 2 kegs, what PSI do I want the main gage to be? What PSI do I want the 2 PCI gauges attached to the kegs to be? I'm...

    Bottling Day!

Rookie! :cross: You live and you learn. If you have access to a dishwasher, you should sanatize your bottles with that. So me easier and less of a hassel. :mug:

Pics of my first attempt at brewing.

I question this step. Did you pitch the yeast in that plastic bucket? Now that I'm kegging, the only plastic my beer touches is tubing and adding the wort to the carboy via a funnel. If you're fermenting in that plastic bucket, I suggest getting 2-3 glass carboys if you want to make...

    Stout Recipe

The stout recipe I make has 1lb chocolet, and 2lb black patent. But 9lbs of pale malt. So, you've brewed this before?

^^^^^ Thanks! ;) I was thinking I use to wait 1 week or so before putting them in secondary. That looks like a nice set up, How much is it? This is the closest one I could find to it. http://www.beveragefactory.com/draftbeer/kegerators/BC-1206S-2.shtml Plus $100 shipping = $829, and...

Hmmm, ok. I guess I'm lucky to have Midwest Suplies 15 minutes away from me. High volume turnaround.

    Dead yeast ? cant tell

That's one of the reasons I use liquid yeast, no hassel, no ?'s. You smack the balloon inside the package and you know it's active and ready to use when it balloons. Pitch at around 75c degrees and it works every time.

    WYeast problem

What liquid yeast are you using that needs that long to activate. The stuff I use is ready in 3 hours but I wait 4-5 hours before using it and the bag is fully inlarged.
