Anybody buy ingredients overseas and carry back to the US?

Just make sure its all sealed airtight. I watched one of those customs dogs sniff out a few apples that were purchased overseas and were ziplocked in their checked bag.

    Guinness Foreign Extra Stout!! Wow!

There is also Guinness 250th Anniversary Stout. I'm personally not a fan, but the foreign extra is one of my favs. I had my first (and 50th) in London when I was sent there for work. They were sold as singles and cost about $2.30 a bottle after conversion. It was one of the cheapest beers...

Help picking out a brewing kit, asking wife for one for Christmas.

If you are planning on keeping this as a long term hobby, go with the glass. Also, I'd go with a kit that has a bigger primary bucket than 5 gal... Then you will save yourself the worry of overflowing airlocks and whatnot.

    Chiller question

I'm still a dozen batches away from even considering this... but for those of you who built your own immersion chillers, how did you create such precise coils? thanks, Chad

    In need of neutral opinions.

My friends are indeed awaiting arrival of my IIPA. This particular sabotage bottle is dedicated to my brother. I realize it's not the most mature solution this forum will come across....but it will sure be a great story some day!

Well to answer your question sparky... I have no freakin idea how a person can insult the craft/art of homebrewing yet only drink craft beer. I tried to think of a metaphor for this situation for the last few minutes and just couldnt...its just plain awful. So I'm going to throw 3 or 4 carb...

I have just kicked off my first batch of homebrew 2 days ago and I have two questions to which I would like some forum input on. First, how often can you sniff your airlock before it's considered creepy (even for homebrewer standards)? It smells soo damn good. and secondly... On a...

    Replacement Hop Schedule

I am definitely noting all of these suggestions, but I am already in the primary. My question is geared more toward what type of result should I expect using the hop schedule that I did. By the looks of the responses I got, the aroma may be a little dull. Should I dry hop it longer than 2...

    Replacement Hop Schedule

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll be sure to note this somewhere in my recipe. Something to consider for the next time.

    Replacement Hop Schedule

I began my new lifetime hobby last night with a BB Imperial Pale Ale kit as my first beer. I wasn't fond of the idea of using all columbus hops as included in the kit, so I decided to change things around. I am wondering if anyone could provide me with some input as to whether the new hop...
