    Chocolate wheat beer?

I was hoping a sweeter brew, but it's really tasty anyway. I have a schlafly extra stout and a schlafly cocoa porter to compare it with

    Yes, 20 min boil

    Chocolate wheat beer?

The chocolate malt is roasted, it's black, but it could be a porter as well I guess. It's not sweet enough for a porter in my opinion.

    Cooling your wort

I myself prefer the old school method and just let it sit covered in the brew pot in my basement for 8 hours or so. Yes I'm completely aware of what can happen by not cooling and starting fermentation ASAP, but that's part of the experiment for me.

    Coors is better than bud.

They're both like screwing in a boat

    Chocolate wheat beer?

My latest experiment is nothing like I imagined, its delicious, but not what I had in mind. I was attempting a chocolate wheat beer. 10lbs red wheat 1lb chocolate malt 1lb caramel malt 1 oz Saaz 1 oz nettenang 1 packet of saf 3 This is my first recipe I've tried to create, as well as my...

    Red Cherry Stout

The cherry cream ale I did I smashed the cherries with a beer bottle And mixed them with corn sugar and fermented for two weeks, it was good, but not near there cherry flavor I had hoped. Also, the color of the cherries was the main thing the the beer had, it totally bleached them out, it was...

    I Never Take Measurements

Lol, like I said, part of the excitement for me is not taking all those readings and winging it, but I'm aware that it makes it difficult to know where I went wrong if it's no good, but so far I've been pretty happy with most of my brews. As far as my current brew, there was a lot of sediment...

    I Never Take Measurements

It's bubbling away, I'm Wondering if I should rack into a secondary or leave it alone? Never done an all grain, but there was a lot of sediment from the grain

    Trader Joe's Vintage Ale 2011

2009 was the first year I tried, it was way better than 2010 or 2011 in my opinion, Unibroue makes some great beer though, Terrible, La Fin Du Monde, and Trois Pistoles are great.

    I Never Take Measurements

Well, I Tasted the wort before I pitched the yeast and it was delicious, it's by far the sweetest wort I've ever made, no readings taken, I'll keep ya posted

    I Never Take Measurements

That's part of the fun for me

    I Never Take Measurements

The wort was really sweet and sticky, I'm hoping it's awesome

    I Never Take Measurements

This is my first attempt at an all grain beer

    I Never Take Measurements

Its just my style to not take readings, it wouldn't be fun if I had to. That being said, I'm currently boiling a dark wheat beer made from 10lbs red wheat, 1lb caramel malt, 1lb chocolate malt, Saaz for 20 min, tettnang for 10, safale 04 yeast, I'm pretty excited, maybe I will take gravity...

    Testing Gravity

I keep an eye on it and if the bubbler hasn't moved in a couple days I bottle it
  19. J

    I Never Take Measurements

Yeah, it wouldn't be fun for me if it was a have to, but I've made probably 15 batches or so and one was bad from to much sugar lol
