Transfer from Fermonster with floating dip tube to Corny keg - tube intake too low

Is the diptube too long? As I understand it, the ideal setup is to have the tube just short enough that when it gets close to the bottom of the fermenter, it will pull to the middle.

    Keezer Moisture

What about those cheapo renewable de-humidifiers they sell for gun safes? I bought a couple of those. They absorb moisture. then you plug them into the wall, to they dry out to be used again.

    No-Chill Brewing?

Most of what you read is that the hop schedules should be shifted at least 20 minutes for no-chill.. I think it should be more. Way more. I dumped a batch because I didn't move my hop additions enough and it was way too bitter.. After a couple of weeks in the keg it seemed to soften but...

    No-Chill Brewing?

Keep us posted! I am interested in hearing how it turns out. This is close to what I am currently doing.

Brew kettle cart and "grain crane"

I have seen some very nice crane setups that allow for sliding the grain laterally to be lowered into a bucket or something.. That's awesome if you can do it. I did find that lowering the grain bag down while pulling it to one side to be lowered beside the cart wasn't very difficult. I did...

Brew kettle cart and "grain crane"

I like the engineering! Projects like this are fun to try to solve. I too built a self-contained portable rig with a crane. The idea was to have a completely portable rig that is reduced in size enough to be rolled against the wall in my shop and not be in the way.. I used some chain-link...

Tilt 2 app on Android 12

Oh FFS! I am going to be in the same boat.. I have a tilt coming in soon.. I just checked the app store and it shows the same thing. Geez.. I don't know what to do.. I am running Android 13. I sent a message to the developer. We'll see what comes of it.. This is a big deal to me...

    Seeking Fermenter equipment advice.

That looks to be essentially the floating dip tube kit like what you see for the FermZilla All Rounder with the filter added on floating dip tube filter Just offering an alternative if it makes sense for you.

Bucket Blaster and Big Mouth Bubbler

Hmm I ran my bucket blaster today on my big bubbler. Its true it doesnt want to sit in the center due to the size of the mouth of the bubbler and the ring in the stand.. but.. I just positioned the bubbler a little off-center so it would rest and not fall over. I did have a wind gust push it...

This is interesting reading on the issue - The CO2 Shortage | Why is there a CO2 shortage for beer makers?

    No boil homebrew?

I had no idea that a no boil kit was a thing. I ran across this video for a fermenter review. The brewer brewed two kits in an afternoon and I realized he literally put the kits in the fermenter, and pitched yeast. Wow..

    Seeking Fermenter equipment advice.

Yeah I agree the ordinary sized opening on the Anvil would appear to be the biggest flaw. And it turned me off for a bit..but it's not a deal breaker when you consider all the kit comes with for the price. By the time I added the extra equivalent components to my rounder I had paid a lot more...

    Seeking Fermenter equipment advice.

IMO you have to answer how important the canonical feature is. If you dont HAVE to have the canonical bottom then there are many many options. I have always wondered if draining off the trub was worth the extra expense, especially since a floating dip tube can be used to draw out the beer...

    BIAB with tap water

For me, the tap water was super hard and it varied. I got tired of trying to figure out the chemistry and just decided to get some hedpak containers and fill them at a filtered water source. At 20 cents per gallon it certainly isn't costly and I have a consistent baseline to brew with every...

    No-Chill Brewing?

@SanPancho I am curious about your sterile air filter. My kettle has a fitting on the lid which I could easily plug in such a filter. I searched for sterile air filter but mostly ran into industrial filters. Can you relay details on the filter you referred to? Oh you must be talking about...

    Homebrewer/….dad?!

My $.02 - An electric, single vessel, 240v BIAB system will give you enough time efficiency that you can probably work it in fairly easily. If you get into no-chill, it further reduces the time needed for a brew session, or at least splits it up into two pieces so the session can be completed...

AG Brew Advice Needed - RO water - Water chemistry

I am not suggesting anything is wrong, but I brew with RO water and haven't seen that many salts being suggested. A lot of the different salts have the same effect. Typically I think there are 3 that are most commonly used. - Calcium Chloride, Gypsum and Epsom salt. Did Brewfather itself...
