I lived in San Diego when Stone started testing out the market at Costco...guess this means they got some good results!

    Beer in CO2 line...

So I was doing some maintenance/cleaning on ye olden kegerator today. I swapped the lines on my dual-tap tower and I noticed that some beer had worked its way into my CO2 line. There was a slight amount of mold along the junction where the line connects to the distributor, so I cut above the...

    Beer "mixing" at the bar

Not sure what to think about this. I can understand that some folks may prefer to mix their brews (example: I enjoy a black & tan every so often...), but this bugs me for some reason that I just can't put my finger on. http://www.ksby.com/videoplayer/?video_id=22927&categories=581

    Homebrewing in Germany

Aye! Not only would you be living/working within the motherland of all things brau-related, you're within a days' driving distance of epic Belgian breweries & abbies.

I take it this isn't normal

Bingo.^ Can't say I've ever used a bag when hitting the secondary. Observation: it looks as if you crammed the bag through the side of the bung in that pic. Bad idea, as it increases the chance for open air to leak into your brew. Most people, when using hops in secondary, just dump them...

    The HOBBIT......don't bother

My mom dressed me as an Ewok for my 2nd or 3rd Halloween and got pictures to boot. Hence why I've hated them ever since.

As is Victorino, apparently. Too bad the Doyers didn't hang onto him, considering I enjoyed seeing them fail miserably with him in OF. :p

I love my job (beer "trade" story)

So we had a customer come in to the bottle shop I work at tonight with a few hefty cases of 750's he wanted to sell. Obviously we can't do that (illegal in every sense of the word), but we had the guy come back after closing & my boss bought them for cash (for personal consumption, of course)...

    Star Wars VII

Also, the best critique of AotC I've found (****, and it's worth watching all 9 parts):

    Star Wars VII

Grew up a Star Wars geek, so my favoritism sits with the first 3. I'm hoping (read: PRAYING) that Disney gets this right. A proper storyline with character development is all I ask...and perhaps a moment where someone isn't whipping out a Lightsaber every 3 seconds...

What 3 things have you done since you started brewing, to make better beer?

-Stopped drinking so damn much during brew day -Began doing partial mashes (AG is just too much stress for my back) -Condition, condition, condition!

Tip of the hat to all Detroit fans on here. Be proud that you're the best team in the AL this season (especially sweeping the dreaded Yanks...).

^Hence why I'm not tempting fate and wishing Detroit good luck tomorrow. :) Regardless of what happens, Vogey has been such a great story and such a great comeback in the last 2 years, and I'm proud to have him as a Giant. *sniff*

    Not-So-Obnoxious Baseball Thread

Wow...whatever Bummy worked on in the last week certainly paid off tonight. 8 K's with 2 hits and a big, fat 0 ER's. I think Detroit's RP problems are starting to creep up though, because Fister pitched just as well (though the higher pitch count forced relievers to come in earlier).

    Not-So-Obnoxious Baseball Thread

Yeah, it seemed like Verlander started falling apart when Detroit's batting coach approached the mound (can't remember his name). There was a laugh, a stern look, and then an outside fastball for Panda's second tater...not a good idea to approach a star pitcher in a WS situation when it's only...
