    Kegerator burping CO2 through faucet

Hoping you guys can help. Last week I picked up a 1/6 barrel of Magic Hat #9. Did my usual routine of letting it settle for a day before tapping it. I got one good pour out of it, then a fairly foamy one. After that, every pour burps out CO2 (same effect as when you pour your last glass from...

    Slow reacting regulators

I keep it at 38 F. No changes in well over a year, aside from shutting it off for a few weeks to clean it up and shorten all the gas lines between the regs and the kegs. They're all nice micromatic regs too.

    Slow reacting regulators

You may be right, but I've been using these regs for over a year, and this is an issue that has only cropped up within the last few weeks. Never had this problem before.

    Slow reacting regulators

So I'm hoping someone here can help. I've got four primary regulators (overkill, I know, considering I only have four taps), but I'm having the same problem with all of them. They're all reacting very slowly when I try to set the pressures for my kegs. Basically, I'll try to set them to 8-12...

Banjo Burner heat shield build. (lots of pics)

Maybe consider them $16 prototypes. I can't see any kind of coating holding up to the heat. Look in to getting the metal shop to cut out some stainless for you. As a bonus, you get to practice welding stainless.

    1st AG

Well, I brewed up my first AG yesterday. Didn't have as much temp monitoring or volume monitoring as I'd have liked, but I ended up with exactly 5 gallons after the boil. Must have done something right. Fermentor is bubbling away as I type this...fairly excited. I can tell this is going to...

    first kegerator

I'd recommend against laying your tank on its side as well. You need to remember, the CO2 in the tank is compressed into a liquid state, and you'll have liquid CO2 trying to run through your regulator. Won't work.

    Kenmore Model# 95882 Fridge Kegerator?

I've been eyeballing that one for a commercial 1/2 barrel kegerator. Figured I could also have a couple of cornies in it as an alternative. That's a ways down the road though. I'm just finishing my 4 tap keezer and starting to brew up something to fill it with.

    Water/grain ratio for partial mash?

Well, overall, it was a failure this evening. Decided to mash in the new MLT using 3 gallons of water. My problem is that my digital thermometer crapped out on me sometime between heating my water to strike temp and when I tried to monitor the temperature of my mash. Thermometer was reading...

    Another Immersion Chiller Build

Well today I threw together a quick immersion chiller and tried it out on a brew this evening. Due to the price of copper, I went with a 20' roll of 1/2" OD tubing. I figured I'd kill two birds with one stone (short coil of copper, and tap water around here in the summer's not very cold)...

    Immersion Chiller Build Question

I'm planning a similar upgrade to mine. Absolutely no problem with a soldered joint. Soldering leak free joints is really childs play. Just make sure you abrade (sand paper) all the surfaces that will be joining each other, apply flux, and slip everything together. Then hit the joint with a...

    Water/grain ratio for partial mash?

Really wanted to make use of my new MLT, but only have what I need for this Fat Tire clone partial mash. My mash tun is 10 gallons. Making a 5 gallon batch, but only using 3lb of grain. Didn't want to go much over 3 gallons in the mash to allow enough volume for a decent sparge. Since I was...

    Water/grain ratio for partial mash?

So I built myself a MLT out of a 10 gallon rubbermaid cooler. Probem is that I'm not doing AG yet. Planning to brew up a partial mash Fat Tire clone tomorrow. I'm only using 3 lb of grain, and I'm a little concerned about the proper ratio of water to grain. I know for mashing AG, somewhere...

Cheap & Easy 10 Gallon Rubbermaid MLT Conversion

If you find 100% stainless steel clamps, you should be fine. The OP found that the clamps he originally bought (claimed to be stainless) started to rust, so he swapped them out with another invention. https://www.homebrewtalk.com/253344-post62.html Of course, I should have noticed this since...

Cheap & Easy 10 Gallon Rubbermaid MLT Conversion

Just built mine. Not going AG yet, but I am doing a partial mash this weekend with a fair amount of grains. I made the mistake of not reading through this whole thread and ended up with stainless steel hose clamps. It's OK though, I'll upgrade later.... Found everything but the stainless...

Not a bad idea. Wonder what shipping would be on a 400lb kegerator from here to there?
