    Decoction or not

Great page. Thanks for the link. I'm going to try a 3 step temperature mash and see how the results are. I want to avoid boiling grains in a separate kettle since that will mess with my automation (and laziness :)) I know I wont get the malliard flavorings since I wont be boiling but I wonder...

    Decoction or not

I have a decent running HERMS system and want to make a Belgian Dubbel. I found a recipe I like and it calls for a 2 step decoction (A @ 149F and B @ 170F). Can I accomplish the same "affect" with just doing a regular 1 step? Maybe start @ 149 for 30 mins and then raise to 170 for 30 mins...

I like to do both. Anyone have any links to where I can buy them?

Priming a March with an 'autovent'

My issues are tightening things up and air is going to get in no matter what do to the way I have things setup. An autovent for a few $$ would be a welcome addition.

    Keezer Sizing

I was want to put the tap on my counter and replace a cabinet with a freezer so just some tubes will be going in and out. Can the kegs be left on their side during drinking? Or do they have to stand up to get eveyrthing out of them?

    Keezer Sizing

I have a spot that has a space to hold a keezer 30"W x 34"H x 31" deep. There is some fudge room for cables and tubes but thats about it. Can anyone recommend something that will fit?

    Automated HERMS system

I have 3 extra solenoids which I might be able to fit in (back to back of another) to be able to fix the back flow issue. I found the BK, HLT and the HERMS line to have issues. 3 should do it. I havent extensivly tested though so there might be more. I did have an issue with my march pump lines...

    Automated HERMS system

My build is for personal use so it's always beta :) I am very happy with it though. Im using a Fez Cobra (domino would work as well). It's a .net mf 4.1 c# device. I have all the services, devices and util classes defined and running in appropriate thread. I also have a SOAP service on it so I...

    Automated HERMS system

Is a spring in line valve better than a swing check valve? Seems like it's more restricitve. http://www.directmaterial.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=DCVCS01&CartID=1

Where did you get the SS checkvalves from?

    SS Check Valves

The Duda Diesal solenoids I bought arent the best. They cant handle any back pressure and I need some check valves. Does anyone know of any good SS ones?

Natural Gas or Electric for Indoor brewing

Finally did this and it wasnt too bad. I bought those cheapy step bits, I started with the smaller one of the set (lots of cutting oil) and worked my way through to the larger one . I used my drill press for this and it cut like butter. The big bits are toast though. I was hoping to fit an...
