    I was under the false impression that in the secondary will continue the fermentation, so I messed up and moved my batch to secondary. So now my gravity has been 1.020 for 3 days. the final gravity should be 1.012. So what do I do now. HELP

    I have never done a yeast starter. I have only hydrated my yeast. The big question I have is should the dme you use be the same type as your beer? I would think that if you used a different dme type you might get an off flavor? Should I make the jump to a smack pack and tube yeast?:rockin:

    The room my primary is in is set to 68 degrees. But the little sticky temp gauge says 75. the pail does not feel like 75. How far off are those sticky temp gauges? If they suck. What is another option? Does fermenting produce heat?

    That batch kicked off in less than 12 hours. it was making that air lock get a work out . Then bam a brick wall on the air lock after about another 14 hours. I know that an air lock is not the only sign. That I need to take a gravity reading. But, does that even sound right. It seems odd. Thank you
