50+ batches, and this one for some reason I had to dump.
That actually hurt... :(
Blue Moon Clone... eBIAB rig...10 gal :(
Worst part is i'm not even sure what happened.
Ruled out infections, two batches since were fine, was hoping it would fade in time... nope.
but had a very strong...
thats fine, you have been more than helpful, thank you :)
I bought the Briess so will give it a try this time.. though I doubt the wheat was the reason for the bad taste...

both say for use in Wheat Beers? just wondering what if any difference there is...
I really dont know how to describe it , but its a very bitter after taste, i just feel its one of those two cor/OP...
also, last time I used flaked wheat... should i have used raw white wheat instead? or is there a difference?
I used 3944. Though I thought about using 05.. i might do that. i dont think its a yeast issue, or sanitation issue, 2 batches after that were just fine...
Well this will be the first beer I had to dump :( Not really sure where that weird flavor is coming from. time hasnt really helped it like i was hoping for...
I will brew again but I think I will either put very small amounts of the coriander /OP or just leave it out entirely...

still using my crappy plastic one.. toooo cheeeep.
but it seems to work... all i really use it for is dough in, and stirring boiling wort sometimes... but then i have eBIAB.
yes, i think its an early version, i want to say 3? years ago....the basket is fine, its just not tall enough for large batches unless you suspend it near the top of the kettle... sits maybe 2 in or so from the top.
I think I am going to suspend the manifold in the middle of the mash and or...
No the solid mesh basket, I cant recall the micron size. I am wondering if i need to put the manifold INTO the mash instead of on top of it. Either that or stir up the mash occasionally....
It would really help if the basket was sized properly to start, as it is you cant do 10 gal batches...
Brewed the Ragin Irish Red Ale 10 gal batch this weekend. HORRIBLE efficiency again :(. 51% Beersmith said should have been 1.053 i got 1.034.
I am wondering if the wort is simply going through the manifold and around the basket instead of through it? I really wish they had designed the basket...
30 years ago I had lofty dreams of helicopter pilot... then private..took a few lessons maybe 20 hrs or so worth...
But too pricey so wound up here... not sure how though. lol... that setup looks awesome!
One thing that kept me away, you dont realize til you get to working on them how things...
