YIKES $600 bucks? I fill keg with fresh water, hit it at 25psi co2 and it is on tap. When keg gets low I prep another one and chill, hit it with co2 and swap it out. $0 dollars.

I use hose lowered into keg. Everything sanitized. Using 1/2" makes quick work of this. I also hang hoses instead of coiling.

Volume is volume. Boil off to get a specific volume is not necessary IMO. If boil off to attain a specific volume was necessary then extract brewing would not be a workable process. Boil is to extract flavor and remove unwanted compounds.

It is difficult to get enough heat in the winter months outdoors and considered cutting the center out of the regular lid. This would open a large amount to release DMS/steam but cover an extra percentage of the pot to retain heat. Any thoughts on this approach?
