    Wet Hops

I am going to make a wet hop (hop harvest) APA or IPA. Any idea the weight difference between wet hops and dry hops? I.e. if I would normally use 1oz dry hops how much wet hops should I use?

    Leap Year Mead 2

Hmm, I used D-47. And I really wish you could smell it, it might change your mind. But it will be racked tomorrow and the taste will determine it from there.

    Leap Year Mead 2

I think mine is too. I was so excited when I got back from London to take a gravity reading I don't think I sanitized my thief well enough. Two weeks later I walk downstairs to take another reading and this is what I see.

    Pro contract brewing

I'd verify first what yeast you would be using. But a Rye Pale Ale would be a nice fit in thier lineup.

BeerSmith - BeerTools - Promash. - Which is best? What do you have?

I tried all three and settled on Beersmith. Easy to use and has regular updates. Plus it had the longest free trial. The limit in Promash was 3 recipes/sessions. It was bad enought that the software wasn't user friendly, but then limiting me to only being able to use it really three times...

    Blueberry Cider

I think his point was to not use campden tablets and use a non fermentable sugar to keep it sweet while the yeast eat the remaining sugars to create the CO2. While leaving the non fermentables alone to give you the sweetness. Disclaimer: Author bears the right to be completely and totally wrong.

    I'm Thinking... 09/09/09 Barleywine

Well ladies and gents here is my proposed plan. I will have to brew this next weekend as brewing on 9/9/09 isn't feasible. I will be doing 2 5gal batches. Batch #1 will be this exact recipe Batch #2 will be a couple changes. (Clear Belgian candy syrup instead of table sugar, MO instead...

Wrong. Ghosts is third. Eaton Rifles is second. Down in the tube station at midnight & the dreams of children are tied for first. That is all.

    BigKahuna I need your help.

Thanks for the info! Diluting this seemed like the right thing to do. This should be a sweet mead, but not cloying sweet. Which is where I think it would be if it did indeed finish around the 1.035 mark. Added some more nutrients to make up for the extra water and moved this over to a 6gal...

    BigKahuna I need your help.

Since you are the resident mead expert I have a question for you. I went ahead with my sweet raspberry melomel this morning and I have about 45minutes to correct what I think could be a huge oversight. I didn't realize that D-47 has an alcohol tolerance of 14%. So after adding my 15lbs...
