15 gal conical I put together

Could we also get a picture of the conical from underneath the table? I would be interested to see how much room you have for the racking port, etc. Thanks! I'm in the process of designing a fermentation cabinet that will hold two of these (i've had one that I have never used since Jan 2008)...

15 gal conical I put together

What size hole did you end of cutting to get the conical to fit like that?

Southern Tier 'Pumking' Imperial Pumpkin Ale

Scratch that, I had one of these today based up the recommendation of one the local home brew clubs. Hated it. It smelled like a Pumpkin spice candle from a hobby/craft store. Then it tasted like what I would think a pumpkin spice candle would taste like. Back to formulating a pumpkin ale...

    When Krausen ATTACKS!!

I understand and agree with 100% of what you are saying. Just wondering why we are moderating a thread in the Photo forum regarding concentrating alcohol but so many Eisbock threads received no moderation at all.

    Is AHS "the Bomb"

+5 My initial reply was a lot worse than what has been said above. My mentor told me 15years ago sometimes you have to fire a customer. This is a prime example of that.

    When Krausen ATTACKS!!

So I guess that means we can't discuss brewing an Eisbock here either?

    A question about honey prices

Holy ****! Some of his prices have dropped, and some of them have went up. For example his clover and orange blossom have went up. But his blackberry and raspberry (at least in the 60lb pails) have dropped at least $30/pail. Now off to check the 30lb prices.

    A question about honey prices

Here is a file that I created a month or so ago for a fellow mead maker. The auctions I link are over, but the same seller should have the same mead available for the same price. Honey Type Weight Price Shipping $/lb shipped URL Blackberry 60 $165.80 $26.72 $3.21...

    Fermentation cabinet question/thoughts/ideas...

Well I talked with the owner of the fermentation chamber in the second picture. That full size freezer you see just couldn't keep up (the coils kept icing up) so he replaced it with a 4500BTU A/C unit. So that answers that!

    Fermentation cabinet question/thoughts/ideas...

Ok here is the plan. Build a fermentation cabinet using 2x4's, plywood and insulate the heck out of it. My goal is for it to handle 4 carboys and my 15gal conical. Now I have two options for cooling it. A 5000btu air conditioner or cutting a hole in my freezerator collar and mounting some...

My UK Tour of Real Ales

I'll be back in London Sept 12-19 and then head to Germany for a couple days of work and a weekend of Oktoberfest. I head back in a couple weeks and if you buy your airfare I've got a free hotel room for you to stay in. First four days back will be at the Heathrow Hilton, then down to Euston...

    Root beer?

Root beer will have a small percentage of alcohol if you use yeast to carbonate it with. So if that is a concern you have two options. 1.) Bottle your root beer into 2litter bottles and use a carbonater/home made carbonation cap to carbonate them. 2.) Keg it. Step #1 is normally the...

    Leap Year Mead 2

I swear you must live in the Mead forum! This is my first time using the raspberry syrup and the more I think about I agree that this will most likely turn out just fine. Now if I can just find a good supplier for 6oz bottles! But hey, I still need your address! Thanks again.

    Leap Year Mead 2

Well I'm not sure if I should be happy or pissed off. I still can't tell if it is infected or not, even after tasting it. Maybe if it was a 5% beer, but this finished at 1.004 after starting at 1.116 so it is sitting right at 14.8%! The nutrient additions I think helped push the D-47 past...

    Any Ideas?

I was at that winery 4 or 5 years ago. They put out some decent wine and the Vintners White/Red were a decent sweet table wine. Off topic: If you get a chance try their Port. I was amazed and want to make some now!
