    beginners kit dissapointment

Sounds like you need more malt extract, some hops, and a quality yeast.

    Keezer temperature control issue

Thanks again. The tiny fan made a big difference. I also taped my probe to a water bottle and placed I on the hump. I think it's just a matter of fine tuning from here. I am being greedy, and squeezing four kegs in this freezer is not easy, but hopefully it will work out. If not I will just get...

    Keezer temperature control issue

Thanks for the responses, I hung a tiny pc fan inside it tonight. Hopefully that will spread the cold air around and even things out.

    Keezer temperature control issue

My collar is 1x12 cedar, with two inches of styrofoam.

    Keezer temperature control issue

I built a four tap keezer, out of a 5 square foot keezer. I used a twelve inch collar to get four kegs in, and have a Johnson temp control hooked up. The keeer is in an un air conditioned shed. My issue is I can't get the top level of the keezer cool enough, without freezing the bottom half...

Know of any Collage home brewing clubs/classes?

He he. Collage, is an art form. Drunken collage classes could be interesting.

    Please help new kegger!

Is the little ball valve at the manifold in the open position? One of them is closed in your picture, cant tell if it is the one going to your keg.

My Keezer build and expense report (yikes)

I just got a little Galaxy 5 foot freezer of CL yesterday. I built the collar, and thought what a deal. Then I priced out all the gear four taps. Wow. On the bright side once you make the investment you can get years of use from the gear. Luckily I stocked up on Corny kegs a few years ago, all...

    Show us your Kegerator

Here is my Keezer. With the tall collar it can hold four cornys. I also have a Sanyo two tap tower mini fridge conversion. The sanyo is in the house, and the keeper will be in my work shed, to keep the pipe line primed with aged and carbonated beer. Still need to get the taps, regulator and...

    Corny Keg as Fermenter?

Never used a corny for a primary, but they rock for secondary. People do use them for primary, but they add a product called Ferm a Cap? This reduces the head space requirement.

Need to reign in my snobbery

I have tried it all, and it's all good, even rice and corn. Look in the pantry, toss in a box of minute rice. Eventually you will want to expirement and a pound or two of adjuncts with mostly malt is still going to produce some great beer. I found two cans of oats in my pantry a couple of weeks...

First time kegging, lost all pressure

If you pressurize and purge, you should add more pressure after the purge. To keep pressure on the seals.

    Carboy VS. Thumb

I have recently started using my corny kegs to secondary, and it's loads easier than messing with the glass carboys. I highly recommend using the Cornies. Sorry you got hurt, hope it heals quickly.

    FNG in Houston.

Welcome to the great world of home brew. Sounds like a good recipe. I just did a vienna lager style beer, with a Kolsch yeast this weekend. Defalco's is around the corner from me, that is why I originally started. Tim

Dealing with bad beer...an experiment in not killing myself

I had one batch of beer come out with a strong band aid flavor. I had used DME, i think it was due to a shortened boil time. Never had the problem with LME, or All grain. All equipment was the same.

    Extract or all grains

So many variables. If you have a local HBS store that has drums of liquid malt extracts, start with that. Have them put a simple recipe together, extract, hops, and yeast, with some instructions. I prefer the bulk liquid extract from the drums over those little one batch cans. I have made very...
