Irish Red Ale Raging Red Irish Red Ale

Yeah. It's pretty much a plan on ending up drinking like 6 at least kinda beer. Drinkability is a 100 out of ten for sure.

    Time to Make It Up...

If you've had the "Lagunita's Sucks Brown Shugga Imitation" ipa, it's pretty damn close to that... Reminder, this was a quick bottling sample, no final opinion until I crack a bottle open and really get a feel for it, that said: Whoa. Strong aromas up front, good full-bodied hops flavors upon...

Irish Red Ale Raging Red Irish Red Ale

I hear that. Posted up on Facebook how great it was and everyone wants a bottle, at least most of the guys asking are brewing as well, it's tradin' time!

Irish Red Ale Raging Red Irish Red Ale

Cracked my first bottle of this open while brewing..... Holy crap. Awesome! Not sure how much of the honey flavor came through with the original recipe but I swapped honey for honey malt and brown sugar, and the little bit of a sweet hint balances well. Holy moly OP, amazing recipe. Thanks...

Bottling this brew on Saturday, looking forward to grabbing a taste of it....

Irish Red Ale Raging Red Irish Red Ale

So, bottled this last Sunday. I pulled a tiny bit to taste test, then immediately sanitized a glass to dunk in and pull half a pint out. Flat and luke warm this beer is still awesome. I was really impressed how balanced the hops and malts were. I can't wait for it to carb up so I can be upset...

Irish Stout Irish Car Bomb Stout

Fact. My bottles might explode. They are already carbonated... And delish.

    Unfermented Wort for Drinking???

Fact. People from Washington say smart stuff. (I'm originally from Whidbey Island, born and raised)

Irish Stout Irish Car Bomb Stout

My batch has been bottled for just over a week, I KNOW it's not carbonated, but it's killing me wanting to crack a bottle open and try it finished. Damn you patience, damn you science, why can't you work in my favor?!?!?!?!

    Unfermented Wort for Drinking???

Clearly you are missing the point here.... It's an excuse to brew some sort of a form of beer. ;)

    Time to Make It Up...

Well. I decided to go on with the recipe as I drew it up, simply for the sake of having a starting point. Brewed it this morning, it's in the primary now. Mashed at right about 148 the whole time. Ended up putting the Centennial in at 5 minutes before flameout and let it sit about 10 minutes...

I am in fact thinking of holding the C60 back, or maybe decreasing both the carafoam and C60 in equal amounts. Picked everything up today and planning on brewing tomorrow.

    Happy sequestration day!

I'm planning on making a 14% beer in honor of the furlough.... It'll be my "night before my furlough day" choice of drink. Haha.

    Unfermented Wort for Drinking???

Potassium sorbate does the yeast's job without creating the alcohol?
  17. Bad_Horse_Brews

    Unfermented Wort for Drinking???

Ok, stay with me. My Fiance is breastfeeding and can't drink beer. Hops helps with the production of breastmilk. I'm tired of spending 6 bucks a six-pack on non-alcoholic beer. So, what if I built a recipe around sweeter malts and added hops in so the flat wort had a reasonable taste to it. I'd...

    Time to Make It Up...

So, two things... One, I am a huge fan of the iPhone app Brew Pal. That said, I have spent most of the day researching and modifying this recipe and I've come up with the attached. Knowledgable brewers, feedback and opinions welcome. Here is the recipe, turns out that file isn't just a text...

Irish Red Ale Raging Red Irish Red Ale

I'd recommend the honey malt to go with the brown sugar as well. Then you'll still get a sweeter flavor depending on how much you decide to use, and then the brown sugar will rack up that ABV as well....
