    5L Mini Keg CO2 Injector

The opening for a mancan keg seems to be fairly standard, so I'd imagine the injector fits other mini-kegs, not including the cheaper 5L ones. Shoot me a private message if you're willing to negotiate :)

Minimum Amount of Extract When Hopping?

I'm brewing this beauty this weekend in honor of one of my favorite styles and festivals: https://www.homebrewersassociation.org/homebrew-recipe/beer-recipe-of-the-week-munich-madness/ My question is this, and not to start a debate, but if I subscribe to the idea that it's boiling extract that...

    5L Mini Keg CO2 Injector

As I'm just stepping into this arena of mini-kegs, I would need just one. What kegs do your injectors work with?

    5L Mini Keg CO2 Injector

Right. Sorry, I figured you knew I meant once you start pouring, that's when it gets oxidized. I'll check this link out. I also found a website called Weekend Brewer that has some affordable dispenser and injector systems. Problem is the cheapest keg they make is 64 oz and runs about $25.

    5L Mini Keg CO2 Injector

Right, so that I'm clear, I still plan to let these 5 liters prime carbonate, and use the cartridges to keep it fresh for longer than a few days. Do you have any links to one? Not the cartridges, but the injector.

    5L Mini Keg CO2 Injector

I've been looking into 5L mini kegs and the one thing I've been wondering is whether I can simply buy a CO2 injector that inserts into the top bung, and avoid the extra cost of the party star tap system. Does anyone know if this is possible? I saw a guy who used one, but the company was in...

A Question About No-Chill, Top-Up Water and Gravity Readings

I take my readings the following day, when it's cooled down to room temperature.

A Question About No-Chill, Top-Up Water and Gravity Readings

I might try that. I think the solution to my process, other than mixing it all really well once in the fermenter, is to take a hydrometer reading from some of the wort at the bottom of the no-chill container next time. Your point might also explain my inconsistent gravity readings. I was...

A Question About No-Chill, Top-Up Water and Gravity Readings

First, let me explain that I actually top-up my no-chill brews. That is, I boil a gallon or so of wort, whirlpool, pour it all in a no-chill container, and top-up with cold water. In this case, it's a 2.5 gal cube (but I squeeze another quarter gallon inside it). My question deals with a lower...

    Muntons IPA Bitter - Souped-Up!

Well this didn't work out as planned :) OG of around 1.056 (couldn't get a consistent reading, anywhere between 1.050 and 1.056). I even added 4 oz of table sugar to bring the alcohol up, and expected an OG of around 1.069. However, it tastes good. I'm going to let it sit for about 3 weeks...

Cane Sugar v. Corn Sugar v. Table Sugar

Got it. Thanks for the tip. It's nice to see a response to an older post without someone chiming in about how the OP is really old lol. Great info is great info. I also found this resource on the topic: https://nebrewing.wordpress.com/2014/09/08/bottle-priming-with-sugar-cubes/comment-page-1/...

Cane Sugar v. Corn Sugar v. Table Sugar

This sounds like a great idea, but what size bottles? When I looked up Domino Sugar Cubes Dots, it said that each cube was 4 grams, which is roughly equivalent to a teaspoon. Any time that I've read about the older technique of priming bottles individually with sugar, a 1/2 teaspoon was the...

    Muntons IPA Bitter - Souped-Up!

So I'm soon brewing an IPA for a friend's birthday, and I'm planning to soup-up a Muntons IPA Bitter. Using a website that had a range of colors, IBUs, etc for the prehopped kit, I plugged my numbers into Brewtarget, added some specialty grains and Cascade hops. I no-chill, so it might be...

First No-Chill Homebrew Experience - Awesome!

Bottled today...FG of 1.008, just like it was one week ago. I used my vinator bottle washer which cut my bottle sanitizing time down to about 10-15 minutes. I first soaked bottles in Easy Clean, then gave them 4-5 squirts on the vinator. With the preparation and clean up afterwards, the whole...

    1.01 final gravity, consistently

Any idea was this recipe from Adventures in Homebrewing anticipates an FG of 1.01? I want to get this Mild Ale, but I'd rather it end with an ABV of around 3.5%. https://www.homebrewing.org/Pointons-Proper-English-Mild-Recipe-Kit_p_3619.html

First No-Chill Homebrew Experience - Awesome!

I have no plans of bottling yet. Just amazed the yeast worked so quickly.

First No-Chill Homebrew Experience - Awesome!

Took a hydrometer reading today, just 4 days after pitching the yeast and I'm down to 1.008. Damn, S-04 works fast. It smells fruity with a bit of alcohol; somewhat cidery. The taste is a bit harsher/astringent than I was hoping for. I don't think I extracted tannins, so it's probably from the...

American Lager Victory Prima Pils Clone

This is great. Prima Pils is one of my favorite beers. If I ever lager, I will be trying this out.

No Chill - Will My Funnel Melt?

So in the end, didn't need a funnel. The no-chill container's mouth is large enough that my 2-quart measuring cup's spout fits right in and pours just fine without much of a mess.
