A better glass Carboy... just an idea

So as I'm trying to clean out the tiny bits left over at the top of my 6 gallon carboy, it occurs to me.... Why don't they make one that's easy to clean? Does anyone make a 5 or 6 gallon carboy like they make a flip top jar? I see it as a big 5 gallon jar with a metal piece that runs...

    New Hops Containers and Trellis

that's a good idea. But how far down does the divider need to go? The open box is only a foot tall... Yes one in the tall box and two in the long box. I have to work fast as the plants are already growing and I have to get them out of the little planter I put them in to hold them till I...

    New Hops Containers and Trellis

Well last week and I got three varieties of hops. I put them in a small planter for now but needed to make them a place to grow. Yesterday I stopped at Lowes and bought some redwood fencing and a plank of redwood to make two planters and a trellis. I made a short planter for two of the...

    Competent Wort Chiller

I have a stainless one from midwest I think on sale during xmas, and I've just used it once so far, but I didn't have any issues with it and it was so much better than cooling with ice in a tub like I did my first time.

    Time to bottle IPA?

to secondary or not to secondary?

thanks everyone I think I'll just let it bubble away till three weeks are up. The recipe didn't call for dry hopping so it will just go straight to bottling.

to secondary or not to secondary?

My IPA will be going on day 7 tomorrow and it's bubbling nicely. Do I bother to Rack to a 5 gal carboy or do I just leave it in there and for how long? Three weeks? then bottle? My last batch (brown) I did two weeks then racked to a secondary. Thoughts?

    The "Perfect" Fermentor Cooler/Fridge?

So I'm looking for a place to put my 6 gal carboy when it ferments and have a few ideas. One is a wine cooler. I think I need to get like a 40+ bottle one to hold the size of the carboy. But it's limited as to how cold it can get if I decide to do other than ales. the other is the...
