SE Nebraska Group Buy Round 2

I too was planning on going to EBQ even though I didn't make it into the top 10 and was thwarted by the dreaded hangover! I did the OBW bus tour on Saturday and must have consumed a lot more than I thought as the hangover didn't go away until 3pm on Sunday.

That was an absolutely amazing turnout. Thanks to those of you on here that showed up! I hope you all had a great time!

It doesn't really get old for me, but it sure as heck does get costly!!! I poured at eight or so events last year and have 13 scheduled for this year. The feedback is well worth it to me, but my wallet still hates me.

Well over half of the beer I make goes to events so I filter my water regardless of how picky I am. Besides... brewing is typically the only thing I schedule on brew days so I could care less about 15 minutes. Filtering takes out that sharpness that chlorine imparts so the flavors are more...

That's what filters are for. :-)

I'm located off of 156th and Fort so I'm pretty darn close to ya. One of my Railroaders Brew Club members is having a brew day tomorrow starting at 4:30pm and lives off of 144th and Maple. Feel free to come hang out. For more information; find the "Friday at 4:30" thread in our Google Group...

Thanks! My entry is quite hoppy so I'm not sure how the public will react to it. I was fairly certain it would make it past the judges because it is a damn good beer.

    Omaha bulk grain purchase

The Omaha clubs are now organizing a bulk grain purchase. I will post the price list once I have it. A massive amount will be purchased so it will be the cheapest you'll be able to get until the next Omaha grain buy in six months. Post here if you are interested and I'll get you in touch with...

    Southeast Nebraska Grain Buy

"The current federal limit on homebrewing beer is 100 gallons for a single adult, or 200 gallons for a household with two or more adults. Adult here is defined as 21 years of age or older." I brew on average one 5 gallon batch per week which puts me at 260 gallons. I think I'm just a tad bit...

    Southeast Nebraska Grain Buy

I would say the 250 pounds I ordered should last me a while. However; the truth is that it will probably cause me to brew like a mad man and I'll have 100 gallons of beer sitting around the house within a couple months. My only limitation will be the number of fermenters I have!

    Southeast Nebraska Grain Buy

The lack of time to allow for aging is exactly why I decided to go with a simple Belgian Pale Ale. And I mean it is SIMPLE! It is all pilsner malt, Czech Saaz hops, and dark Belgian candi. I inverted the sugar and simmered it for about 90 minutes to get it to the color of maple syrup. I...

    Southeast Nebraska Grain Buy

The Railroaders Brew Club and South Omaha Brewers will be doing a group buy in October. From what I hear, the prices will be even better than this group buy. Once we get it going, I'll post on this site and see if any of you want to get in on it. Also.... I'll be at Beer Quest this Sunday...
