    Homebrew the best beer

Yep hooked! To answer the question that was posed earlier, it was a red ale kit by best brew. I can't lie, the beer was haunting. It almost seemed to call to me, lol.

    Homebrew the best beer

Ok so I made my first 5 gallon batch and 3 weeks after it was ready to drink it was all gone! The thing is, not many people besides myself drank it. It was really that good. I've been used to drinking crap like miller but no more. I know what real beer tastes like now. It had a beautiful head...

Beer about ready but i have a few questions

The sample was not bad but the beer was a little dry for my taste, not that I'm not going to drink it . Will it sweeten up some when I add the priming sugar? Sent from my iPhone using HB Talk

Beer about ready but i have a few questions

Ok, I'm taking SG readings as it's getting close to bottling day but when I opened up the fermentor, there appears to be crusty yeast (looks just like the little yeast pellets in the packet but their kind of blackened) or maybe even mold but it doesn't really look like that. Is the beer...

Beer only bubbled good for one whole day

This is the second full day & the fermentation lock isn't bubbling as much as yesterday. Granted it was bubbling pretty good yesterday & the odor coming from the lock already smells like beer. Has my yeast stopped working already or is this normal? Sent from my iPhone using HB Talk

    Label for my own beer

Know I'm getting ahead of myself cause I'm new to home brewing but when I settle on my "standard" beer, I was thinking of calling it "olde scrawny dog" lol. It would have a picture of a medium sized short haired dog walking through a field who was slightly emaciated. What do you think?

Ah I see, the cold causes the yeast to settle out right?

More or less, putting beer in a secondary helps clear & improve the flavor by allowing old yeast cells to drop out of the beer right? Since this would also (or seemingly) increase the life of the beer, it makes sense to clear as much yeast out of the beer as much as possible. So here is my...

Bought a complete brewing kit at a yard sale for $5.00

Thanks for the advice & kudos guys. On the surface things look practically new. I suspect that it was used only a few times if that. The siphoning hose needs to be replaced, looks like for whatever reason, the end was cut off. It did not come with a thermometer, but I have already corrected...

Bought a complete brewing kit at a yard sale for $5.00

First I would like to say howdy to everyone as this is my first post, & secondly, I got a heck of a deal on some brewing equipment. 2 food grade buckets (1 6.5 gal. & 1 5 gal.), 1 bottle tree, bottle washer, bottle brush, hydrometer, siphon hose, bottling hose, spigot, bottle capper, bottle...
