I thought I knew how to brew

I also just picked this fermentation chamber today off of OfferUp for $40! It is super solidly built, heavy, has 5” of foam insulation all around, and holds 4 carboys. I kind of freaked out when I saw it. It’s way too nice to be $40. I’ve seen way crappier chambers going for $500+. It’s lager...

show us all your fermentation closets/chambers here

It’s DIY even though I didn’t build it but I just bought this fermentation chamber/work table off of OfferUp today for $40. I kind of freaked out when I saw it. It’s way too nice to be $40. I’ve seen way crappier chambers going for $500+. It is super solidly built, heavy, has 5” of foam...

I thought I knew how to brew

I finally got around to taking some pics of the grain mill. It’s run by my kitchen aid that sits on the shelf and coupled to the drive. I still need to take it apart to clean everything though.

Anybody else despise IPAs and other bitter beers?

I'm am not a fan of IPA's. It seems to me that people are just trying to cram as much hops into their beer for the novelty of it. I was recently thinking that maybe I just haven't found an IPA that tastes balanced to my palate so I'm thinking of experimenting with them to try and find something...

    Ssbrewtech brewbucket vs 30+ psi

My condolences on your kettle. I hope they can work with you to replace the damaged parts. Glad it was just the equipment that ate it and not a person.

Show us your Mead in a photo!!!

Just made the mead for my wedding in August of next year. 5gal of traditional and the other 5gal is going to be a raspberry melomel. Started a little lower than I wanted @ 1.096 but it should be good. Using 71b and a staggered nutrient schedule. It’s now happily bubbling away in the fermenter.

I thought I knew how to brew

Mead is made and happily bubbling away in the fermenter. Came out a little low @1.096 (was shooting for 1.110 but I ran out of honey) but it should be fine. 5gal is going to be a traditional and 5gal is going to be a raspberry melomel. Next week is the cider then it’s on to working on...

I thought I knew how to brew

Video games are made to have fun. Give some, take some, have some fun, and drink some beer. People get too worked up over video games.

I thought I knew how to brew

I'll definitely be picking up a set of those! I was thinking about rigging up an automatic opening actuator but that looks a lot easier. At least until I have the time and money to rig up something cool.

    Seattle Area homebrew club?

How long do the meeting usually last? And thanks for the info. I was looking at the old website. I'll try to make tomorrow but if not I'll definitely shoot for next month.

Sadly the Crankenstein got a little water damage in storage and I'll have to make some repairs before it's up and running again.

I thought I knew how to brew

I'm super stoked that he passed it down. He put a lot of work into it and we have a lot of great memories of brew days connected to this old brewery.

HAHAHA. Yeah, now days I do most of my bagging on Overwatch but I do miss the good ol' halo days.

I thought I knew how to brew

I'll slowly be covering the freezer part in beer labels and beer related stickers. Should look pretty good in a few months. Also going to add a couple more taps (one is going to be a nitro stout tap) on the other side to even it out. Only problem with it is that all the wood is thick ass...
