Lime Beer - What to use?

What if you cold crash your beer, or filter it to get all the yeast out. Poor into a Keg and add a 2 liter of lemon lime soda in the keg with the beer. Or maybe just the lemon lime flavoring that they sell at the brew shop for making lemon lime soda.

Bottle Bombs! Is the rest of my brew ok?

How long are you guys staying in your primary/secondary. Maybe the yeast were not finished yet, and there was still some fermentables when you bottled. Maybe the yeast are not cleaning up all the way and then when you are conditioning your beer at "warmer" temperatures, they start cleaning and...

    Coffee grounds

What if you used some type of steamer. You could put the water in a steam kettle and put the grounds above it on a screen where the steam would rise directly up through it. I think (not positive) for 325° F that would be about 96 PSI pressure on a steamer. Most pressure cooker only go to 15 PSI...

    Hard Root Beer recipe

This sounds amazing. I am definately going to try this when I get back home. Out of town for work right now, can't brew anything for three more weeks :(. But I have Octoberfest and an oat meal stout bottle conditioning so atleast I'll have some good home brew when I get back home :)

taking OG to see if fermentation is complete

Thanks for the help!! Much appreciated. So I will just let it ferment for three weeks or so, and then check it to see if ready for the D-Rest. Is oxydation a big problem when racking to a secondary? I thought that was supposed to be an issue while the wort is hot.

taking OG to see if fermentation is complete

okay, so if I am fermenting in a bucket in the fridge, how often should I pull the lid off to check if the Krousen has fallen? I have to pull it before it has completely fermented for the diacetyl rest. Should I wait until it has finished bubbling, and then pull the lid off to see if the...

taking OG to see if fermentation is complete

I have been brewing a few months now, but up until now, I have only done ales. Usually I ferment in my primary for about a month, and then bottle. I keep reading, where everyone says to take SG readings and you are through fermenting when you have the same SG reading for two of three...

    Hello all from East Texas

Brandon here from East Texas. I have been brewing since January ( Only Ales so far ), and I love it. Everything I learned, I pretty much learned from the Internet. Would love to eventually be part of a club or something, maybe have a mentor. Look forward to getting to know you folks. :rockin:
