    Yes, its a new starter. I aerate the starter in the flask, add my yeast, cover and then put the stir plate back on normal speed for 48 hrs. Then i chill, decant and pitch into a 5 gallon batch of wort. The wort I O2 with pure O2 from those red bottles

    I'm just putting the stir plate on "turbo" mode for about a minute to create a super vortex. Once its aerated I pitch. Maybe not what you are referring to...

    To the OP. If i were you i would search the recipe forum as Dgallo suggested or on line for other options. Many on line shops post their recipes for you to see the ingredients. I would also recommend a simple recipe with perhaps 3 or 4 kettle hop additions and possibly 1 dry hop addition...

    I too use the fermonster. I love that its light weight and it can stand upside down on its own to drain if needed. I just soak it clean or use a soft sponge. I also use PET carboys. Never had any issues, they aren't expensive and won't cut your arm or leg off if dropped.
