Have the police launched a DUI crackdown on rich people??

In fairness, most European countries have populations less then 50 years ago. So, the public transportation of that time has been easy to maintain. But, they also improved on the system that works. The US mostly abandoned public transit after WWII, in favor of cars. When the gas runs out or...

Have the police launched a DUI crackdown on rich people??

Baron, you are correct. I can add that seniors driving are a danger from such prescriptions as oral diabetic medications. We had an 82 year old killed yesterday flipping his car on the freeway after passing a car on the right and crossing two lanes left and over the center divide. A 16 year old...

Have the police launched a DUI crackdown on rich people??

Interesting headline article in my local newspaper today. They described both drunk driving and driving under the influence. Drunk driving is .08 or above on breath or blood test. But you can receive a driving under influence citation for even a trace of alcohol. In either case you are going to...

    alcohol content

Ideally, I would like to achieve ABV's of 7.5 to 9% on everything I brew. In reality 5 to 6% is a barrier beyond which the flavor seems to generally suffer.

    Greetings From South Dakota

Tasmania! You have the added problem of having those Devils getting into your brew.

    Greetings From South Dakota

Welcome. Next will come the really hard part. That of having an ongoing supply of beer and wine. I brew like crazy and still run out...... of everything! I need a commercial size brewery and okay from the government on a 10,000 gallon yearly brew limit.

    Steel prices?

You're in a decent sized city. I would look locally for the materials. Shipping can be costly. Besides, seeing the items is better in filling the bill of what you really want. Catalog or verbal descriptions are sometimes vague.

    Grain Life Span

To my suprise, the US comes in 9th place in barley production. The Russian Republics come in 1st place with over 17,000,000 metric tons, Canada 2nd place with over 13,000,000 tons. Germany 3rd with nearly 13,000,000 tons, Ukraine 4th with 11,000,000 tons, followed by France, Spain, Turkey and...

    It's too bitter!

I would try making a batch using bottled water or water obtained from another source. That will eliminate any question of it being your water. If so, possibly a carbon type water filter or ph balance additive will correct the problem. Sulfur in water source will really spoil the taste, but...

    Looking for Pacifico Pils

Emperor Maximillian brought two good things to Mexico...... beer and congac. Negra Modelo would get my vote as a better Mexican beer.

    True or false???

I've seen some centuries old window panes. They tend to become very rippled and all the glass flows away from the top leaving an air gap. But more likely the limiting factor on glass bottles is the accumulative stresses from the capping and decapping. Those stresses could cause fractures and...

    grolcsh(sp?) bottles??

They're fine to use. There are some green glass Grolsch bottles out there that aren't so good unless you keep them in a dark place.

    headaches???

I never get hung over or headaches from beer. Cheap distilled alcohol will give them to me though. Scotch and gin seem to be the worst. Wine in excessc will give me a hangover too.

Where do you want to vacation?

Cozumel. Great diving and swimming. Lots of Myan ruins and a good night life. More layed back than Cancun.

    Sterilizing vs. Sanitizing???

To sterilize you would have to pretty much have to have a laboratory kitchen with air lock, stainless steel surfaces etc. And of course a clean lab suit with filtration of any germs you might exhale. With brewing, as with all food handling, you only need take reasonable care with sanitizing. But...

    Whole vs. Pellet hops

I like whole hops best for aroma and dry hopping. Pellets are generally better for other purposes as well as longer storage. Kent Goldings is a favorite on aroma hops.

    Which Water To Use??

Brew with Evian bottled water at about $1.59 a liter. After you drink the result, try spelling Evian backwards.

    Dog Forums

Antidepressants for dogs are bad in high dosages due to liver impact. Lower dosage 2 or 3 times daily is better. When crated, a dog should have plenty of room as well as water and toys available.

    11 year old Wyeast

Recently some 50 year old cans of Coors were recovered from a train wreck site in California. They opened one of the cans. It wasn't pretty. Those were old steel cans ant the beer was dark with the rust among other things. Not too many things can be said to improve with age, other than wine...
