How to ground a water heater element

Green wire would be connected to ground. Usually a metal pipe water line. With plastic equipment the main thing is that if something goes wrong, you don't want your body completing the grounding circuit. I would highly recommend a ground fault interrupter. They can be life savers.

    Dry-Hemping

I don't use marijuana, but advocate its legalization. My feeling is that laws too frequently broken are a waste of law enforcement and court time unless it is a matter of public safety. Marijuana is less a threat to public safety than alcohol.

    Gluten-Free Beer????

AB has announced a new gluten free beer made of sorghum. Initial marketing in organic and health food stores and restaurants. Turns out 3% of the population has celiac disease.

    Party Pigs

Your refrigerator shelves should handle the weight if only the party pig is on the shelf. If it will hold a watermellon, it will hold the party pig, I have more problems with the size.

    Dry-Hemping

A curiousity where I live. They publish court sentences in the paper. In case after case people getting heavier sentences and fines for getting caught with marijuana than for manufacturing and sales of methaphetamines. But, you'll get a bigger fine for not wearing your seat belt than for the...

    Dry-Hemping

I think if the government would effectively tax marijuana, its value would come down. Most marijuana users would simply grow their own. Whether booze, tobacco or drugs, the thing that keeps it going is the profits being made. I would suppose that were marijuana be taxed and regulated, companies...

Anyone ever used a small mail scale to measure corn sugar?

I generally prefer to make my measurements by volume rather than weight. Typically a cup of corn sugar for 5 gallons. But if you're going by weight a scale ranging from 1/8 ounce to 5 pounds is a good range. And electronic scales are in the same price range as better mechanical scales.

    Dry-Hemping

Marijuana is now the biggest cash crop in the US. At over $35 Billion a year it outdoes wheat and corn combined. Time tey legalized, regulated and tax that resource.

    Neighborhood Traffic Nazi Rant

I grew up in Chicago too. While we played in the street, we did it center on the block. And if a car approached we curbed our activities because the street is there for car traffic. Besides there was a real nice park only two blocks away. For some strange reason kids seem to play in the...

I think the woman is preparing to make the street a playground for her kids. They will probably be skateboarding and playing ball in the street before long.

I suggest getting together with other neighbors and file a complaint in Small Claims/ Arbitration court. Best to gang up on that neighbor as she will only get worse. You might prepare your case with video or other pictures. You'll probably find the woman exempts herself from the very things that...

    The brain and Beer?

On another note researchers have recently been persuing the idea that alchol protects victims of head trama from permanent brain injury. And of course alcohol is often used following surgery for pain relief. In poisonings, alcohol is often used to nutralize the toxins at the liver. And recently...

Have the police launched a DUI crackdown on rich people??

I had a neighbor that killed 5 people while driving the wrong direction on the freeway. That was 8 years ago. He was sentenced to 17 years in the State Prison and permanent loss of driving privilege. No provision for parole or early release. He was taking medications for schizophrenia as well as...

    Steel prices?

You're lucky you're dealing with steel. Copper here is being stolen out of homes being constructed for the scrap value. So, a copper cooling coil could get pretty expensive.

Have the police launched a DUI crackdown on rich people??

The German car companies could understand why Americans wanted cup holders in their cars. Like why would anyone be drinking coffee or soda when they are driving? The accidents increase with distractions. I have seen people driving and watching TV, though illegal. Law in Oregon is if you can...
