Yes, I used oxy on aluminum. I know it's a no no. However, without creating a huge brewers debate; aluminum in my opinion is to be avoided.

I had an issue with metallic flavor in my beer one time. I traced it to oxyclean and aluminum pot. Fyi, they don't mix. I'll never use aluminum again.

Thanks Yooper, One follow up. The stout will have been in primaries for two weeks as of friday (2 days), I'm still waiting on vanilla beans. I'm thinking once they arrive to slice the two beans the long way scoop out the good stuff and let sit in a cup of makers mark bourbon for 24 hours...
