    Slow Ferment

Thanks guys!! I will proabably rack on Sunday...7 days. The sample was bitter, I didn't discern a sweet tate. I took a sample from my secondary (American Amber), it had a SG of 1.012. Ready to bottle this weekend. It tasted very good (Hoppy), so the flavor of my primary (Fat Tire Clone) was...

    Slow Ferment

Well, I was afraid of this...SG reading was1.036 down from 1.064. Should be around 1.014. Now I am getting a bubble every 30 seconds with, and the circulation is gone..now just sttling. Should I re-pitch?

    Slow Ferment

I will take a reading tomorrow. I already gave it a swirl, what about temp. Will raising it up a few degees, maybe 70 kick start some more activity. I am baseing this on my past 3 attempts, which I had a solid 3 days of vigerous fermentation, and about 3" of Krausen (blew off on 1st).

    Slow Ferment

Hello, On Batch #4 Brewed on Sunday. Almost 6 hours later, I got a vigorous ferment going. By the mon. morning, there was about 1"of Krausen at the top. I though everything was going great. However, today after work, the Krausen was near gone, and activity has slowed considerably. There...

Yes, That was the featured recipe on the home page. What I did was do a search on Fat Tire, and came up with 15-20 recipies, and I figured I would select one that had many "views". Also, the recipe attached looks good, but I'm not sure exactly what a partial mash is (Infusion or Temp...

    Aeration

Sure as sh#@, it does. Page 107. Thanks Janx:) One thing I have not been doing, but will. It also says the cold tap water added to hot wort may already contain dissolved oxygen, that must have been my saving grace. You are right though, I do need to branch out.

    Aeration

The last few posts have talked about Aeration. Why do this? My first three Kits did not mention this, and I can't recall reading this in Papazian's book. Fermentation seemed to be pretty vigorous on all (3)???

    Hooked - Thanks

Hello - I posted my first message on Saturday about removing hops pellets from primary. I have since been reading many of the posted messages. Aside from brewing beer, I am finding just as interesting reading about it as well. I have learned more reading hte messages on this site than...

Adding fruit to secondary, how to sanitize the fruit?

When you refer to a "#5019-Wheat-2", what is the #5019. Is this a recipe from a certain book?
