American IPA Sierra Nevada Celebration Clone 2013

This is no harder than any other all grain recipe. If you spend some time reading up on all grain, you could give it a shot, but I don't think the equipment you currently have would work. You're going to at least need a mash lauter tun (which I built out of a 10 gallon rubbermaid cooler per...

American IPA Sierra Nevada Celebration Clone 2013

Jeff - I highly recommend you give it a try (if you're a Celebration fan). I have plenty of Celebration here, and the color and nose seem to be dead on. Mine seems to have just a bit more hop kick to it and a little more of a Centennial taste coming through, but again, very close to the real...

    It begins

So this is your first brew altogether and it's an all grain? Well done!

    It begins

What are you brewing? Extract? Based on your hydro reading, I would say so far so good. Ferment away!

what is on your homebrew equipment Christmas list?

I purchased a CO2 tank and two kegs a few months back, and that was the single best investment to my brewing setup. So much easier and nice to have drinks on tap.

what is on your homebrew equipment Christmas list?

Blichmann Beer Gun; the makeshift counter pressure filler i use doesn't cut it (carbonation isn't consistent and its messy). At some point i would also like to get (or receive) a grain mill!

    CO2 in the NOVA Area?

I know this is an old thread, but i thought i would reply for anyone else that may stumble on this. I fill my CO2 tank at Fireline, a supplier in Leesburg. Prices are great and they refill (as opposed to exchanging) your tank.

    Bottle Share in Clarendon/Arlington, Sat 6/8 2PM

Crap - just saw this today (a couple days too late). Hope to see another one of these in the future that i can attend!

    What's on YOUR Christmas/Holiday Wishlist?

Blichmann beer gun. The homemade counter pressure filler just doesn't work as efficiently or cleanly as I need it to!

    Steeping grains?

I've only done about a pound as well (maybe a little more). How much does this recipe call for?

    Personal Homebrew Websites

I thought it would be cool to see who out there has a personal homebrew website, blog, youtube channel, etc. It's always neat to see what others are brewing at the moment, and to follow people with similar interests! Mine is new and it's at www.boykingbrewhaus.com. What about you?!

American Pale Ale Bee Cave Brewery Haus Pale Ale

Great - I like the answers and may toss in a few extra hop pellets, but other than that will go with what I have. Thanks!

American Pale Ale Bee Cave Brewery Haus Pale Ale

Just picked up the supplies to do this, it sounds like a great pale ale. I'm new to all grain and accidentally had the lhbs grind and extra 1/2 lb of Crystal 10 (for a total of 1 pound) into this. My suspicion is that I shouldn't worry - but would you recommend I compensate with additional...

    Finished my 8 tap keezer

What type of black paint did you use for the outside of it? Did you paint directly on the freezer?

    Finished my 8 tap keezer

Well done - that will hold plenty of homebrew!

    What are you drinking now?

Sierra Nevada Celebration clone, which turned out great! Mine is on the right, my wife's (the original SN Celebration) is on the left.

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

I would change the airlock (just out of an abundance of caution), but I agree that the beer will be fine.

American IPA Sierra Nevada Celebration Clone 2013

I just brewed a Sierra Nevada Celebration clone and it turned out great. I based the recipe on the Jamil show (brewing network) and several threads on the Homebrew Forum. I just tried the first pint tonight and could not be happier with how it turned out. I have SN Celebration 2013 in bottles...

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

Second all grain and first kegged beer. It turned out really good!
