    Crack in Carboy

    Any scrapes or gashes in the carboy have the potential to harbor bacteria and damage the beer. If there is even the slightest belief that it could be a scratched or damaged I wouldn't use it.

    24 hours since pitching yeast...

    I kinda freaked out too when it had been probably 18 hours and NOTHING was happening. My first beer (IPA Kit) took maybe 10 hours but this dark ale took approx. 26-28 from what I understand now is not all that long.
