Another drill weekend coming up this weekend. I have brew days planned for the next two weekends after that, though!

This pretty much sums up my feelings. I don't "hate" hipsters, either. I'm more amused by them.

I think I'll wait until next year to brew beer for this and enter, but I'll be there this year to sample others' wares for sure! That will give me time to get my all-grain setup going, and possibly get into kegging.

No doubt. Even if I don't attend as a brewer, I'll be there drinking!

How does one go about reccommending a returning unit to be considered? We've got a Texas National Guard unit coming home this month, which is not enough lead time for this, but I'm sure there are Guard units coming home all the time that would be interested in this.

Ok, thanks. Did you find that 5 gallons was enough, or did you have more? I'm still pretty new to brewing, so I'm only setup to do 5 gallons at a time right now. This is something I would really like to do, so I can get some real feedback on how I'm doing. Everyone who has tried my beer...

Interesting. Do most home brewers bring kegged beer, or is it a mix of kegs and bottles? I ask because I'd like to try to brew some beer for this, but I am not to the kegging point yet.

I'll have to see if I can talk my wife into doing this one Saturday. She enjoyed Jester King this past weekend, and she doesn't even like beer!

Once I've gotten a few more brews under my belt, I would like to enter some competitions. I'm not quite there yet, I don't think. I like everything I've brewed so far, though, and that's what matters to me at this point!

I'll be in Austin this weekend, too. Maybe I'll talk the wife into swinging by tomorrow before we head to AHS and Jester King. :-)

I got my equipment kit and first recipe kit from Northern Brewer, and I've done two Austin Homebrew kits, and have had no problems with either. I've switched to using AHS because, like the poster above, I'm in Dallas, and like supporting a Texas company. I'll actually be in Austin this...
