If you look at the photos, you can see that I had a lot of oranges in my .. what do you call it? soda-wort? Anyways, I took a sample finally, and I can say 3 things about it. #1 this does not taste anything like ginger ale off the store shelves. #2 this does not taste anything like orange...

    Orange Ginger Soda

After 1 hour Welcome to your new home I didn't use my plate chiller, and sent this into the keg boiling hot to mix wit the spledia. I hooked up the CO2, but it started leaking oops. I am waiting for it to cool. 8 hours later it was still a hot keg.

Here are some shots of my soda brew. I started doing this at about 9:00pm at night, and finished up at about 1:00am, minus some cleanup. First the chop everything. I was going to use a blender or food processor for the ginger, but that is rather loud so late at night. I figured I...

Brewmation: An amazing turnkey brewery (not a Brew-Magic vs B3, but with comparisons)

This past weekend I went down and visited the brewmation laboratory. Kevin is a great guy, and his setup is pretty interesting. I am going to steal his setup of basically building the brewmation on top of a counter top, drilling 3 holes in it for drainage. He also has a sink built out of the...

Fresh Strawberry Kolsh = weird taste

So much good information in this thread!! Thanks. Yes it was my first time with fruit, I think I will try a different approach next time. Interesting about the plastic. I just feel I never get it clean enough. I'm kind of the opposite. I figure with stainless, I can run a brush though the...

Fresh Strawberry Kolsh = weird taste

I used a kit to make a honey kolsh, and then decided to add strawberries. This was my first time adding real fruit. I think I made several mistakes. But this was my process. 1) Make honey kolsh, ferment 1 week in primary 2) rack to secondary 3) cut 1 pound of strawberries in half and...

    DIY Conical Fermenter?

I was looking at this plastic tank to use when I move to a conical. The lid looks a little better than the other one that is posted in the link above. Any thoughts? http://www.tank-depot.com/productdetails.aspx?part=A-IN0015-19

How do you plan on carbonating? Will you be using something for a bright tank? I was planning on using plastic conicals as well for fermenters. This is it off to kegs, bottles, cans??

Why isn't that couch pointed at the brewmation? Should that not be the focal point of the pure awesomeness.

    Tinseth formula for OpenOffice help?

I just copied pasted your formula into open office. =(1.65*0.000125exp(AVERAGE(H1;H3)))*((1-(2.72exp(-0.04*E24)))/4.14) Changing the exp to ^ I do not get an error. You need values in H1 and H3, or you will get a #DIV/0! error.

Brewmation: An amazing turnkey brewery (not a Brew-Magic vs B3, but with comparisons)

My build was for less. Although a future brewery is possibly in the works in the future (5yrs). My town has 0 brew pubs, 0 microbreweries, 1 tap room. I will start a new thread when I get the equipment. So, I ordered on Friday, I will follow up on this thread when the items ship. Realizing...
