Can Water Chemistry cause stale beer

Pulling from what redbone said about beer lines themselves being a source of spoilage and/or oxidation, do you all use teflon tape on threaded beer line or gas line connections? I don't seem to have any noticeable leaks from my lines, but wonder if the threads could also be a source for air...

How long had it been in the keg when you took that last picture? My first guess would be the yeast back in suspension... +1 Those first pours look incredible!

    Brown Ale Questions

I was a big fan of Sierra Nevada's Tumbler, so when they stopped distributing it so much I decided to try my hand at a clone of sorts. By the time my batch was ready, I found Tumbler in their fall sampler. Turns out I liked mine better! It was a pretty proud moment for me, and has become a...

    Hop Seltzer/Hop Club Soda

That's where the vodka or other neutral spirit would come in. Since what we want is the oil from the hops, the alcohol acts as an emulsifier. I believe this is why a lot of flavorings or "extracts" are alcohol based. Haven't done it myself. Just spitballing

    Cold Crashing Nightmare!

The balloon idea is brilliant! Some guys come up with the most expensive/complicated way to fix things, but every now and then there are brilliant nuggets like this. Love this hobby!

What happened to The Great HBT Stogie Thread

I'm fairly inexperienced in the cigar world, but one that I always come back to is the Perdomo 10th Anniversary Champagne. Could you guys give me a few recommendations? Every maduro I've had has been too much...

    Hop Seltzer/Hop Club Soda

This is a great idea. I've thought about trying to make a tincture with vodka to do just that. The process shouldn't be that difficult, really. I bet the cryo hops that are out now would be perfect for this. Hmmmm
