    I wouldn't worry. At the beginning with so much outward pressure you're not going to get anything in there. Just check it a couple times a day for the first dew days to make sure the stopper doesn't come out. I know some people won't event seal the lid the first couple days for just this reason.

    How much of is due to the longer bulk conditioning? Leaving it sit longer may have obsorbed some of the smokeyness left in the trub.

    I've done a few batches, all in a plastic fermenter. I am doing a Oberon clone. It has been in the fermenter for 2 weeks now. I am/was assuming this is the normal yeast stuff. After 2 weeks shouldn't all of this settled? Is this not the normal yeast stuff...

    Order Gas

    Forget the gauge, as far as how much gas is left. Weigh it. The bottle will have a stamp on it saying ow much the tank weighs, empty. Subtract that from the current weight and you will know how much gas you have left.

    I have we'll water. Goes through softener I've been using distilled. Trying to save a couple bucks and a trip to the store if possible.

    If I use a pur water filter to filter my water to add after boiling my wort, should I still pre boil it or will the filter take care of any nasties that could effect my beer?

    What are you using to sanitize with? Wrong concentration of sanitizer may kill your yeast. Are you adding anything to your beer when transferring to a bottling bucket that may kill the yeast?

    I made a batch of JAOM. Been bottled for about a month. Being an impatient man I had to try a bottle. Not bad, but man can I taste the yeast. Will this mellow with more time? A bit hot too. I waited for the mead to clear before bottling, so I know it was done fermenting. Any thoughts...
