New way to control Pellet Hop gunk!

Sorry if you've already covered this but can you elaborate on your plan to use both? Are you putting leaf in one and pellets in the other? You said a 300 and a 400 right? I was thinking maybe the leaf hops in the 400 and pellets in the 300? Or are you just planning on 2 because of the shear...

    Trub Filter & Plate Chiller

What kind of pickup tube do you have? Mine goes to the center which I imagine wouldn't work to well with a whirlpool.

    Trub Filter & Plate Chiller

So what does everyone using in the kettle? I have been using a hop spider which works great until the amount of hops gets too ridiculous (I might do 2 for my iipa's). I also have one of those bazooka screens I have used before. I went the false bottom route so I could use a pickup tube to get...

    BIAB general question

I use my oven to control my mash temp better. And 2 pots fit better in my oven. Plus I started brewing 2 separate 5 gal pots before I went to a keggle. So I brewed 2 different beers a lot of time.

    BIAB general question

I brew biab and can fit 8 lbs of grain in my mashing pot. I use 2 at a time (so 2 pots with 8lbs of grain each) but my boil kettle is 15 gal so I add dme to make up the difference in any recipe.

    Trub Filter & Plate Chiller

I just dropped around $380 on plate chiller, SS fittings, hoses, and hop rocket. And I haven't gotten my pump yet. Is it worth it for this filter? I ask because I brewed an iipa Saturday and used my brand new false bottom with pickup tube in my kettle. It was a disaster. The false bottom...

    I love bottling

I would say that a majority of homebrewers sanitize everything that could contact beer. Although beer is a lot less susceptible to contamination due to the alcohol (compared to wort). My point is, its so easy. So why not?

    Moving CO2 Outside - Decisions

I have 1 or 2 gauges set to 30 or 40 psi so I can force carb and also to serve the wife's sparkling water (which was a big part of me not hearing about all the time and $ spent on the kegorator over and over again). The last gauge, however, is always set to 10psi.

    Moving CO2 Outside - Decisions

Not sure if I am following 100% (I blame the beer) but do you have a manifold? I have my tank outside my keezer. The line comes to some gauges similar to the link you sent. Then to a 4 port manifold. But you could probably hook that dual body reg to one keg directly. then have the back end...

    I love bottling

I actually don't mind bottling as well. I have a 5 keg keezer but bottling is still enjoyable. I think the main thing for me is the comfort I feel when I cap and know that I'm safe from all the contamination issues we all fear. Almost like a mini party each time I cap a bottle.

Anyone here make a kegbot / beer donation station?

I wish I had input. This is awesome. Would definitely help keep track of how much beer my drunk-arse friends drink.

    Keezer Build Sealant Question:

By sealer do you mean what you put under the collar to seal it to the freezer body? If so I have seen some people use a silicon sealant/adhesive but I used some of the foam weather stripping for around doors. One side is sticky but the other is not but the weight of the collar plus the...

digital temp controller probe in starsan?

Thanks. I actually had straight water in there for around 10 months or so and very small amounts of 'stuff' was floating around in there when I cleaned it out last night. I ask the question because after only 10 minutes or so, my beer transfer tubing gets all slimy like the acid is eating the...

digital temp controller probe in starsan?

As in most keezers, I have a mason jar filled with water with my temp probe submerged in to help avoid cycling. I decided to replace the water with starsan to help avoid moldy water after a few months. Does anyone know if the plastic sheath on the Johnson controls digital temp controller is...

    Air compressor aeration

Ok, so this thread started out helping me answer my question but has turned into a tutorial of how to setup an o2 system (not complaining, just an observation). I have a 15 gallon compressor and have installed pvc lines running along the top walls of my garage with a few drop downs where I...

American Pale Ale 15 Minute Cascade Pale Ale
