Oh yeah, totally forgot about it but Troeg's actually puts up some decent videos (and sometimes their grainbills) up on Youtube. Here's the JavaHead vid.
So I know the Java Head recipe is based off their original oatmeal stout that they no longer brew. I lived in the area when they brewed it and it was my favorite. You wouldn't happen to have an insight to their grain bill on the original?
80 schilling/export would have been my guess for today if Maxam hadn't already said it. And I assume the strong Scottish ale means Strong Scotch Ale though I might be splitting hairs there. After a few McEwans, I'm often interchanging the two as well.
I wish I would know how easy it is to convert an old freezer to a fermentator, how critical temp control is to consistency, and how freaking easy it is to build a kegerator.
Yeah - I'll have to agree with jpsloan on that too. I actually like Michelob. Though my non-craft choices usually show up in the craft section in many dives.
Sam Adams Boston Lager
Yuengling Lager (affectionately known to many as just 'lager' (and no one carries premium))
I'm curious as to...
Good to know - I thought Czech Lager was a copyright thing - they could only be called Czech lagers if they were brewed in Czech. Kind of like Vidalia onions only come from Vidalia Georgia.
