My hours are odd because I get up insanely early.

Oh...OK. Guess I'm still a little peeved I couldn't get a siphon going no matter what I tried. Hope the autosiphon at the LBHS will be OK, that's what I'll get.

American Picker? That was a cool episode, where they found the boats? Or was it cars? :mug: The freaky one was the flooded out park, with those giant hand painted murals. Strange dreams from that one. Sunday night. A little of this... :ban: A nightcap and it's time to rack.

Heh, Midlands South Carolinian myself. I do have a bottling wand. Not as concerned about bottling method as I am about using a spigot to go from primary to secondary. All of my vessels are either buckets or Mr. Beer containers. I still have one in the fermenter to be dealt with as far as...

Hope it all works out well for everyone BobbiLynn. I need to spend more time in the beginner threads and FAQ's. But I have not seen this really dumb question: Why do we siphon out of buckets? Why not just use a spigot and hose when going to secondary or direct bottling? Given my experience...

Well, I just couldn't get a siphon going with the racking cane. It would start, then air in the tubing, and then stop. Most assuredly I am doing it wrong, but don't know what!

On the subject of brewing plans...I was going to bottle and brew tonight until this little disaster occurred: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f11/flyguys-t-siphon-3-replacement-autosiphon-25774/index3.html#post4885731 Couldn't just hold back and wait, the LBHS doesn't open until Tuesday, and it...

    FlyGuy's T-siphon: a $3 replacement for an autosiphon

I couldn't even get the siphon going. Absolute disaster. I pinched the end that goes into the bottling bucket, sucked the T portion, then let go of the bucket end while pinching the T-portion I had applied suction to. Nothing. The next time the fluid only went into the T and the fermenter end...

Bad sound quality on purpose, but this was one of my first memories of seeing him on TV. After the fact of course. I was born in '63. http://youtu.be/wEV58ztuihs

Kool. I'm really just starting out on brewing and just sticking to the brew shops Liquid Hobby recipes until I get the "process" down. So far it has actually been easier than the Mr. Beers I started off with many moons ago. Glad the water is running, and nothing like seeing the airlock...

Sorry I can't ID it close enough, does it say "Ligero"? Looks great. Time to tip a hat to my bride. She buys the very fine cigars I have in my humidor. She is a lady from the old school of thought, and treats me far too well. No way would I spend that much on myself.

Yes, first just swap that 12AX7A. We ought to start a gear thread. :mug:

Oh! That's cool! Thanks. When I stepped outside the box in the early 80's I was young enough, yet experienced enough, to apply true machining knowledge to CNC's. Shop owners thought good CNC operators were the ones that could show up every day to push the right buttons. A machinist can make...

How many beers do I need to drink before I decide it's a good idea to read this entire thread? Want to take bets? So far I have read pages 1, and 2, and this one.

    Blow off tubing?

If the tubing is too long it will tend to coil up. Mine is about 3' long and is a large radius. It is nearly vertical in the "airlock adapter" and vertical into the blowoff pitcher with a slight radius on the end to allow flow. What kind of tubing are you using? Mine is vinyl and seemed plenty...

    Sam Adams white christmas clone?

I just had the same impression tasting it. Nice, refreshing, and light. More like a great summer drink to my uneducated palette. I'll be interested in your final analysis to try brewing myself.

Similar here. Been using Tracphone for years. It seems to work better in remote areas than other full service cell phones. I joke "It's because it hijacked your cell, and that's why it's so cheap".
