Crankandstein 2D, Barley Crusher 15, or Monster Mill MM-2. That's the question!

I have crushed in excess of 2000lbs with no problems whatsoever. I do not have the gear drive option. I have been driving it with a 3/8" electric drill up until this week. I came across 1/2hp motor and bought everything else to motorize the mill today. At 10" wide solid steel rollers...

    Quick and Cheap line cleaner

Fill empty keg with hot water, add appropriate amount of BLC, run .5 gallon through each tap, let sit in lines for 20 minutes, flush with .5 gallon of BLC mix again, then flush with water. Do this every two months or so. A bottle of BLC should last you at least 1 year.

    Help me wire this motor

3 Wires. Black, White and Ground. Well, I tried googling the model # and came up blank. How do I know what size motor start cap to buy if that's what it needs?

    Help me wire this motor

So, being that it's already wired the way it is it looks like I don't need a starting capacitor right? Could I just put a spst switch on the white and black leads and I'd ready to go then?

    Help me wire this motor

Hey guys, have a motor I'm going to use to run my mill. It's 1/2 hp, 1725 rpm motor 110v. As you can see it already has a plug attached to it, but it also has another lead with a black and white wire, I assume this goes to a potentiometer/rheostat or maybe just an on off switch? Is it...

Crankandstein 2D, Barley Crusher 15, or Monster Mill MM-2. That's the question!

I have the Schmidling Malt Mill . It's fantastic, default gap of .045 I believe. http://schmidling.com/maltmill.htm 10" wide rollers, it's a crushing machine. I usually get upwards of 80% efficiency.

Flow rate issues for 55 gallon mash tun

Here's how we reinforced our SS braid. Solid copper pipe with bunches of large holes drilled into it. Works like a champ. Just mashed 275lbs of grain (15% rye even) and ran off 100 gallons without a problem.

Here's the thread I was talking about. https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f51/100-gallons-123594/ Please let me know if you have questions.

Show me your 50 gallon plus setups

Our club has a system current capable of 90 gallons (3bbl), once our new boil kettle is complete we will be able to do around 140 gallons. I'll see if I can find the thread arkador posted with the pics of it. Mash tun is 100 gallon stock tank. Current boil kettles are two 55 gallon drums, HLT...

80-100 gallon Stainless steel mash tun

Your next best bet is to start looking for used processing tanks. I purchased a 170 gallon SS tank from these folks for around 400 dollars to use as our new boil kettle. http://www.schiercompany.com/StorageTanks.html

80-100 gallon Stainless steel mash tun

I think I recall you not wanting plastic for some reason. But I will post this again as our club has literally made thousands of gallons of beer from this thing. http://www.home-improvement-superstore.com/rubbermaid-commercial-prod-4242-88-bla-100gal-blk-stock-tank.html If you want...

Question about building a Propane Manifold

Sounds like you are on the right track. If you wanted to save a few bucks instead of getting the yellow flex hose you can also use soft copper and flare fittings to feed the burners from your black pipe. That's how I did mine. 1/2" MIP goes into black pipe and 3/8" flare to copper then to...

Questions about copper poisoning/copper pipes + hoses in herms system

I don't think you have anything to worry about. Most everyone uses copper for their HERMS coil and we are still alive and kicking.

Does anyone else hate their auto siphon?

My biggest complaint is the crappy plastic it's made out of. I bet I have replaced 3 autosiphons due to cracking, I'll never buy another one that's for sure. I'm moving to co2 transfers.

    My 55 year old Frigidaire

I've love to know how much power one of those originals use though :) I doubt they are energy star qualified! It sure is purty though.

Terrapin Midnight Project Depth Charge Espresso Milk Stout

I had this at the Left Hand brewery last month, it is an awesome beer. Definitely worth trying.

    My Carboy/Keg Cleaner

I have something similar, use a sump pump from harbor freight, works like a champ. Thinking about adding the Tee like you have to clean the In and Out posts, currently I just take the posts off and throw them in the bucket.

    Breaker sizing for keezer?

A keezer really doesn't require all that much power for a dedicated circuit. I have a 14.8 cu ft freezer, and with the compressor running it uses about 200 watts.

10 tip NG burner from bbqguy's

I've never dealt with Tejas, but you can buy these burners much cheaper online. http://www.topfoodservice.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=KECABJ

Fermenting in a 55 gallon food grade plastic drum

We have brewed several pilot batches with a local brewery here using food grade 55 gallon drums. Works like a champ. We fill to the 45 gallon line, sometimes a bit lower if we have a yeast that likes to go gangbusters and rarely if ever have blowoffs.
