    Must try beers in Minnesota?

Depends on what you like drinking. Try a flight of everything Summit, Schell's, Surly of course, Fulton, Lucid, just to name a few.

    just starting out..

From experience... Don't get drunk until after you've pitched the yeast. I usually don't even crack open a beer until I've added my first hop addition. Then I set timers on my phone for the other additions. While the boil is going on, I'm usually cleaning up the mash tun, sanitizing my fermenter...

    Stone 16th Anniversary IPA

Seriously... My 15 month old was eating them, so I popped some in my mouth, took a swig, and was like "they should have thrown some of this sh*t in the mash..."

    First Kegging Issue

+1 to this. Anytime I add a keg, I usually fill it up with water, put some pressure on it, and check the posts or any leaks, gas or liquid. With a used keg I got, the poppet on the gas side had a leak I found by doing this. Replaced the poppet, now all is good. I'd rather waste some water than...

    Little less than 5 gallons

    Btw, iPhone autocorrect sucks.

    Little less than 5 gallons

If anything, you OG was maybe a little higher due to boil off. Did you dump everything from the kettle to the primary, or did you leave a half gallon of trub in the kettle? Id you left some begin in the kettle, your numbers will probably still be within the directions of the kit. If not, you may...

    The only problem with brewing

Can't add a third... I'd have to take the shelves out of the fridge. That would bring forth rage from SWMBO!

    metalic taste

I had this happen with a sweet stout I made a few batches ago. Everything taste fine before bottling. In my case, I'm blaming some sort of infection, because all the bottles seem to have a gusher bug. I was sad.

    The only problem with brewing

    15. Waiting for a fermenter to open up so I can add to the pipeline. I've put a self imposed limit of 10 gallons in fermenters at a time. Luckily, those are done now And I'll be kegging tonight. 16. Finish adding the second tap to the kegerator. Must do before kegging tonight.

Going Bulk....anyone have tips or tricks?

Check out the local bakery or grocery store for frosting buckets to store grains. I picked up several buckets and lids with rubber gaskets for $.50 apiece. Home depot's homer buckets with lids are great too at >$5. 2 5 gallon stackable buckets hold 50# of grain.

    What are you drinking now?

My Galaxy IIPA and lagunitas IPA. Delicious!

    Kegs vs bottles

I move to kegging after doing 5 extract batches. I was pushed along by getting a 20# co2 tank and a regulator for free. The only downsides? Of kegging is I go through beer faster than bottles, and giving away beers makes me bottle off the keg sometimes. Not having a beer gun or counter pressure...

Yeast falls asleep in the morning

My only thought is to keep it under 70F if at all possible. The bubbles may just be CO2 that you're displacing when you shake it. Keeping it under 70 will help you greatly with minimizing off flavors in your fermentation.

    I'm very new to this

+1 this Everyone starts somewhere! I started out with the Midwest groupon that included a kit. Brewed probably 5 extract kits, then decided to try all grain. All this happened within a year of my first brew. Starting with easy kits is the best way to get to learn the process and get your...

    Where to order from

Midwest gets my dollars. Of course, they're also my LHBS, so I don't worry about shipping. Prices are better than NB on most things I buy, too.

    Stone 16th Anniversary IPA

+10. I didn't read the bottle either. Shame of it was, I passed up the last ruination 10th bottle for this. I found it to be drinkable if I had a bite of cinnamon chex first, otherwise, my first thought was "what the f did I buy"
