Most of Frankenmuth's stuff is decent at best. But their Dunkel is the best I've ever had from the US. I doubt you will be impressed with Atwater. Nothing they make is bad but very little is good.

Its called Beer Barrel Bourbon. Its made by New Holland out of Holland, MI. I'm not sure what kind of distribution their spirits get. I am currently out so I can't take a pic but if you search I'm sure you can find one.

In my opinion Celebration is very sub par this year. Not malty at all and very little hop character other than bitterness.

Personally I would replace all the 2-row with marris otter. It will add a really nice bready/biscuit flavor.

When you say brett beer do you mean brett only fermentation or brett and sach?

Women tend to be more sensitive to bitterness. They just have more taste buds for it. My wife loves any beer that I would describe as too sweet and she considers most pale ales to be too bitter.

Spice and beer rarely works out well.

I really like this thread. The other is just a bunch of rare stuff and I just don't have time to hang out at all the bottle releases. I do however have some great beer available to me and a bunch of stuff from the rest of the country I want to try.

Magnum is not very good as an aroma hop. Nugget might be a good choice. It doesn't taste much like columbus but it is nice. Very herbal.

They definitely add different characters. Late boil additions tend to age better as was said before and dry hopping seems fresher. I did the exact experiment you are talking about and to me a beer with dry hop only tastes hollow. I don't know if that makes sense but there is no core to the hop...
