Changing clocks back is a pain for about a week

About a week for my Golden Retriever as well. Not just her wanting to eat at the 'old' time, but getting up early to go out as well.

Tri-clamp cap advice for keg fermenter

I recently scored a good deal on a used slim 1/4 bbl keg from a fellow brewer that is upgrading some of his gear for larger batches. It is modified with a 4" tri-clamp port on top, as well as a pressure relief valve. I think it's actually one of these, but I bought it without the sankey spear...

Home Brew supply store in Tupelo

I stopped by the store today and chatted with Mark, and picked up a couple of supply items that I was low on. I enjoyed talking with him, he's a really nice guy. I hope all the homebrewers in the area, and hopeful ones, will support the store. It's a much-needed resource for the brewers in...

    Budweiser Project 12 - 2013 Edition

No, because they are indeed producing different styles. Unless I'm missing something, all of the Project 12 brews are lagers. I don't have a bias against what they're trying, I'd just like to see them attempt more different styles. I've only tried one of the Project 12 options, and it was...

    Budweiser Project 12 - 2013 Edition

I read that all of the Project 12 beers, while they contain varying grain and hop additions, all still use Bud's proprietary yeast (meaning they're also all lagers, similar ABV range, same basic flavor profiles). I guess that's fine if you want to explore variations on the same theme, but it's...

Home Brew supply store in Tupelo

Plus one on that. I'd like to hear more about your inventory, when you're ready to open. I'm in the area, and would love to have a reliably stocked LHBS.

    keg connection leak question

The liquid leftover in the kegs I received was dark and syrup like, with a strong cola smell. One of the keg lids was sticky and had some form of mold on it. If it had any kind of sweet smelling cleaner used in it, then it certainly wasn't a very effective one. As soon as I saw that I...

    keg connection leak question

I'm having very similar issues with a 2 keg system I received from them this past week. I went with the double body regulator, but I have a leak around the low-pressure gauge post on the regulator body closest to the tank. Also, both kegs were sticky inside and smell of soda. I have emailed...

What is the recommended time in primary?

Why are you so keen to rack it? It's been in primary for less than a week. I'm pretty new to this too, but I'd leave it be in primary for a *few* more weeks. Maybe check the clarity and take a gravity sample at the one month mark.

    Cranberry cider

Wow, lots of Cranberry ciders going on the forum right now. I've got a pretty simple attempt at it going here, and there's another here. Your recipe should work fine, and I think you might be just as well off using the cheaper juice. Let us know how it goes.
