Used ball lock 5 gal kegs

You may have made him cross by making a bunch of offers. I probably wouldn't want to exchange a bunch of messages to dither over $4 either.

    TN Brew Pubs

Knoxville - Blackhorse Nashville - Boscos Chattanooga - The Terminal I've been to Blackhorse, and to Boscos many times. Not yet The Terminal, but I've heard good things.

    Quality regulators

Most of the name brand regulators are pretty high quality and will last for years. I'm kind of partial to the MicroMatic Premium series, because of their ease of adjustment. Mine has been rock solid so far. I had a no-brand regulator sourced from ebay before I bought the MM one. It was...

    The Cult of the IPA

I'm certainly not enough of an expert on the history of hops to speculate on the developments of high-AA% strains. But I do know that the relatively recent history of IPAs predates many of those strains. I think a lot of the experimentation with higher IBU IPAs probably stems from the...

    The Cult of the IPA

Maybe the popularity of IPAs has something to do with the fact that we now have access to more, better, fresher, and a wider variety of hops than ever before in the history of beer.

    5 taps...what would you chose?

Beer. :drunk: J/K It goes in phases for me. Sometimes I'm stuck on stouts, other times I enjoy lambics, still other times it's IPAs or hefeweizens. About the only thing I like to drink pretty much any time is a low-abv english bitter.

    5 taps...what would you chose?

Choose the styles that you enjoy drinking, and that you feel like having at the time. No need to worry about keeping some sort of set selection when you aren't running a bar. Homebrew is for what *you* like. JMO

Used ball lock 5 gal kegs

As long as they hold pressure, they'll be fine. Order some o-ring kits if you don't have any on hand. I think I've got enough on hand to refurbish the ones I ordered. Post back here when you get them. We can compare notes.

Thanks for the heads up. I took a chance and picked up 4 at the same price. Even with shipping it's cheaper than I'm seeing them locally, so maybe it will work out.

    Smoking with a Weber grill...

Indirect heat is definitely best for smoking. For the spare ribs, if you're gonna use cider, try the 3-1-1 method. Dry rub, then (3) hours low-n-slow around 250ºF, then wrap them in foil for (1) hour with about a 1/4 cup of cider, then unwrap and back on the grill for (1) hour. Delicious...

    5 gallon all grain

You want the kettle to be big enough to prevent boilover. But also big enough so that your pre-boil volume will fit before accounting for evaporative loss. 8 gallons is the minimum I'd recommend for a 5 gallon batch size. But 10 probably would be better, especially for batches that require...

    Horrible crime/tragedy

Wha? Are you saying that you think teenagers whose parents hold political influence are more likely to commit crimes like that? Seems like a strange observation. Then again, I have neither children, nor any political influence. Very very sad situation with the horse, whomever...
