    Best beer pairing for trout.

Well, good lord willing I'll be eating fresh trout. Its a bit of a trip from where I'm at but it's always worth it. If I had trout streams down here I would have to quit my job and live in a tent just so I could fish all day. Worst case scenario though I'll just have to thaw out last years catch...

Post a pic--let's see your ugly mugs

Well, even though I'm new I figured I'd throw my picture up on here. You can't beat having 9 hours of time ro kill when you work a 12 hour shift. I hope it works right because I've never posted from my phone before. This is my wife and I at her college graduation, prior to our wedding though...
  3. I don\'t remember when I made this but I know its over a year old. Can\'t find my recipe so I don\'t have a name for it, but it sure is good.
  4. Left beer is a kit, nut brown ale. Right beer is my first ever apple wheat.

    Best beer pairing for trout.

Baufessor, Were probably going to start at the at Big Springs on the Turkey river, just kind of a nostalgia thing, first place we ever went trout fishing so it always brings back memories. I'm not totally sure where we are headed from there, I do know we plan on kayaking the Volga river, Turkey...

    Best beer pairing for trout.

I suppose I could bring up the question then, what kind of hops would be a good choice. I really like the wheat beer idea and would ask if anybody had a good recipe, but that wouldn't belong in this thread. - Switchman

    Best beer pairing for trout.

I did read an article from Field & Stream about a month or so ago about a Scandinavian or something along those lines, method of cooking trout. Where they open the trout and nail it to a cedar plank and let the radiant heat from the fire cook it. That might call for a slightly smokey beer I...

    Best beer pairing for trout.

I guess the thought of how I plan on seasoning it never came to mind. I would just figure on how i usually do it, skin on, no head or tail, wrapped in aluminum foil with butter and some salt. Pretty much the simplest way I think. I currently have an, "Amber Apple Ale" (or so you could call...

    Best beer pairing for trout.

I think might just have to give two hearted a shot. I wasn't sure if I could get it in Iowa but a quick check on the website says otherwise. I may very well just thaw out some of the trout from last year and see how it matches up. Works out even better for me since my wife can't stand beer and...

Show us your Mead in a photo!!!

This is the first mead I made, aged it on oak, roughly 2 years old. It just got shoved aside and forgot about during moving. Turned out pretty good if I do say so myself.

    First post from this guy.

Thank you for the info thus far, I look forward to learning A LOT more in near future I hope. I have read some pretty negative things about bakers chocolate, mainly leaning towards head retention and how much of a pain it is to get everything clean after brewing with it. So, I'm pretty certain...

    First post from this guy.

Okay, I'll just have to dig deeper on the actual forum, the android app does have its downfalls. I do have a few questions though, what is the major difference if any, between a porter and a stout. Also, is it more preferable to use cocoa powder or bakers chocolate ( I believe that's what I...

    First post from this guy.

I just want to start off by saying hello to everyone and that you have an awesome forum here. I'll try to keep it short, sweet, and to the point with my intro, but here goes. Southern Iowa guy, more of a wine maker, but I've made a few different kit beers, a couple of extract...
