    Need kegs!!

I'll check into that, I'm not one that is OK with the stealing of kegs....even if it is from some large brewery.

    What should I make?

Hey ya never know, maybe you just invented the czech IPA:mug:. unfortunately you don't seem to have much to be "creative" with from my point of view.

    Need kegs!!

+1 They charge about $1/lb of stainless. They always have them. Or check recycling centers.

    DIY Tap Handle?

Thanks for the concern....but do you REALLY think they would hand out casings that held DEPLETED URANIUM???? These casings had HEI rounds, AKA high explosive incendiary, and I assure you, they will be cleaned.

    DIY Tap Handle?

The casings stay in the jet when they are fired. So id grab them from the pilots.

    DIY Tap Handle?

I leave Afghanistan in a few months, you keep in touch, and I manage to grab a bunch of casings...we can work a trade. I only need 3 or so.

    My 1st BIAB

For your BK is there still a ring of metal inside the top? Or is that completely removed? Seems from the reading there is still a lip on the inside. I'm going to move to BIAB when I get home and a keg seems to be the simple/cheap method, just wanted to see what you'd suggest.

    Vanilla beans for Cream Ale

Do a search.....but basically:chop vanilla bean up, soak in small amount of vodka for a couple days, add to secondary. Might consider using about half a bean in such a light beer.

Your go-to spring time beer style/recipe is...?

6 Lbs pilsner LME 1 oz of each: tettnang spalt saaz hersbrucker hallertauer split into equal portions @ 60, 20, 5, dry hop. 2124 bohemian lager ferment until hitting terminal, d-rest and lager a month. That simple.

Brewed first beer. Secondary Fermentation Questions...

Sounds like you just need to get a quality kit from somewhere like northern brewer or midwest supplies. Personally I wouldn't mess with this one anymore, write it off as a loss(drink it still) and get a better kit.

RIS barrel aged... bourbon or wine

Are you stuck on the barrel idea, or are you ok with say....Oak spirals/chips soaked in some wine or bourbon....soo much easier.

    HBC 342 hops

I did a smash last yeah from 2-row and El Dorado hops, made a pretty good beer, but I would use them only for aroma additions. Very sweet almost candy like scent.

    1st stuck fermentation

Have you made sure whatever measuring device you are using is calibrated?

using cocoa nibs and vanilla beans

Dont boil the vanilla beans! No need to sanitize them, just simply chop them up and place in about 1/2 oz of vodka for a day or so, and put them in the secondary, might want to put them in a bag that you can remove later when you think you have the vanilla flavor you are seeking. I suggest 1-2...
