Fermentation chamber parts are in, build shall begin

It's tough to get stuff done with a 1 and 3 year old around the house but I have the majority of the insulation done. I should have everything done tomorrow. I need to frame out the door as well as reinforcing the inside of the chamber.

Fermentation chamber parts are in, build shall begin

Its actually a 4.3 the best part about it was it was free. Little more work going on right now. Put together a base for the fridge to sit on and began insulating.

My side-by-side conversion (yes, this fridge is old)

I agree, just go to home depot and pick up some spray paint, any kind will work, doesn't need to be expensive. Just scuff the acrylic down a bit and spray away.

Fermentation chamber parts are in, build shall begin

I'll be "enlarging" the fridge to make room for 4 carboys. I'm going to be picking up the 1.5" insulation from homedepot tomorrow. I'm also going to finish up the chamber with some plywood and will be flushmounting the controller to the outside of the chamber. Door is off the fridge

Fermentation chamber parts are in, build shall begin

So l ended up getting a minifridge from my brother-in-law and sister-in-law on Sunday night. I also just got my eBay temp controller today. Just in time, the next couple of days are supposed to be in the mid 90s which means the house is probably going to start getting into the 80s soon.

    Mental note for brewing outside

More then just a mental note I guess, hopefully I'll see this thread for next time. Unfortunately, 9:30 does not include clean up time. Oh well, another beer!

    Brewery names--what's your story?

Was messing around on the laptop and came up with a quick logo design. What do you guys think. My wife doesn't want me to go with my initial Briss Brewing Co, so I went with my 3 year old daughters idea of blue cod

    Buying a keg

It is a standard half keg that I would be converting to keggle. I decided against it for now though. I would feel bad dumping out all that beer even if it is bud light and I certainly could not drink it all.

    Buying a keg

Just walked into a liquor store and asked the lady if she had any empty kegs to sell me. She didn't but offered to sell me a full bud light keg. For 50 bucks. Good deal? How much do kegs go for when people are looking to concern them

    Brewery names--what's your story?

I'm toying with Briss Beer Co. tagline: Enjoy it before you get cut off My 3 year old daughter suggested Blue Cod Brewing

Thinking of converting, what would I need?

I was definitely going to stick with 5 gallon batches for a little while, however wanted the option to go to 10 gallons without having to buy new equipment all over again. I do have a single tier set up but it only cost me $25 to build ( i own a sign shop and had 1" galvanized steel tubing...

Thinking of converting, what would I need?

So now that I have a place to brew outside and not worry about SWMBO complaining about the smell. I am thinking about going all grain. I have already brewed my second 5 gallon batch, and that was about 2 days after I bottled the first batch. I am thinking all-grain could possibly be a lot...

    Gas line

I used 1/2" threaded black pipe from lowes. depending on how many burners you have would depend on the number of elbows and nipples you would need. you can probably make sense of it by looking at the picture if you have any questions let me know and I'll try my best to help

What do you do when NOT brewing?

I own a sign shop, along with having two young ones myself

I couldn't of said it better myself.

    I finally joined

After trolling the boards for a while, I finally joined. I brewed for a little while over five years ago in my 3rd floor apartment however my wife(gf at the time) wanted me to stop since she didn't like the smell. Fast forward a few years and I'm back at it. She was in Dallas for work and I...
