    Tower build plus Beer Engine

I was couldn't find a good match for the o rings and they were in pretty good shape so I just cleaned and used some keg lube on them. I think the problem was the springs were stretched out so I found a new pair and this should technically hold the cylinder up against the top o ring I installed...

    Tower build plus Beer Engine

Thanks yeah I just pulled it out and stripped it all down. I think your right, there are actually two o rings a small flat one and a round one that goes around it. I will search your prior post and see if I can get by without getting the full kit.. I put 3/8s tube on it and it was having the...

What no one wants to say

Thanks for sharing, I have always thought HBSs make minimal margin on sacks of malts. This proves it. I am curious what BSG is charging for Euro malts I would imagine it's close to $50-$60 depending on quantity? It seems most of these sell for $30-$40 over in Europe/UK.

What no one wants to say

Restaurants and bars have always been a tip for service business in the states. In fact owners can legally pay the staff less money than they are required to for non tipped staff. Now here is where tipping is getting out of ******* control over here. Want a cup of coffee, a sub from subway or...

How is that on nitro? Seems a bit different than the highly carbed Belgian versions.

What no one wants to say

I've considered becoming a marketing consultant for companies. My pitch would be if you make something I like, it's 99% likely the rest of your market won't. And if I really don't like it, chances are it'll be big.

    Tower build plus Beer Engine

Thanks I did think about this, it's a great idea. I wanted to add a couple regular taps so I just built it into the main tower. I am hoping the small hole will keep the engine at cellar temps. Although I think I need to rebuild the anagram it's leaking around the pump shaft....

    EVABarrier 3mm ID?

I am highly impressed with using a 3mm line, thanks to you and @Broken Crow for sharing this tip! The parts are inexpensive and I was able to find them from brew hardware. In fact I just set up the kegerator with two taps and I am going to get do the whole setup with 3mm. I also tried a couple...

What came in the mail for you today?

Amazingly this came installed so I didn't have to suffer getting a 3mm line onto the 1/4 barb! Time to put away the heat gun. Thanks @Bobby_M! Looking forward to testing this out and finishing up the kegerator if this works well.

    Tower build plus Beer Engine

Planning out how to have the beer engine on the right and two taps on the left. Should I build a wood enclosure and have the top wood sit in the top of the engine? I can get 4 2.5 gallon kegs in here. Maybe it's worth having 3 taps?

    What are you drinking now?

Only a couple more of these left :( On another note I picked up a kegerator and beer engine on Facebook and I am planning on getting it all set up. Might need to build out a tower to hold the engine and a couple taps.

What no one wants to say

    We need to be realistic regarding brewery numbers. 2024 - 9,922 2023 - 9,906 2022 - 9,824 2021 - 9,384 2020 - 9,092 2015 - 4,841 1976 - 103 Even if we see a 10% decline we are still talking 9,000 breweries.

What no one wants to say

[ I definitely think home brewing as a hobby is taking a big hit in all of this. The plethora of beer options between local brew pubs, them selling packaged versions for home and the overall variety of beer available at most liquor stores is a real deterrent for more casual potential and...

    Favorite Old Timey Recipes?

I usually just go to the recipes forum and sort on most viewed or replied and all the good old timers pop up. I actually need to brew more of these. Now days most recipes add way too many later addition hops.

English Ales - What's your favorite recipe?

Finally sourced one of these for a fair price. I am going to get this one hooked up to my 1872 porter tomorrow. Now I need to figure out what to mount it to when you don't have a bar?
