    Stupid thought or?

Thanks , I'm hoping to do that without getting the "oily" still considering , what best to do with only these ingredients (could also add brown sugar IF I choose to but at the moment contemplating these items and how best to use them) I keep thinking it's worth a shot and can get something...

    Stupid thought or?

I was hoping they "Might" have some LOL - but figured the oats would probably help with head retention and smooth mouth feel if I can get the % close enough....

    Stupid thought or?

Thanks! I was concerned if the DME would have enough enzymes for the oats/rice - also forgot to say I have s-o4 or Notty for the yeast slurry (most likely do a starter as well I'm wondering if I could maybe do 4-5 gallons or should I drop lower?

    Stupid thought or?

While out mowing the other day on a unseasonably hot day I started thinking /wondering IF I could make a refreshing "Lawn Mower beer" with some ingredients I have on hand from other brews. Now I have a nice IPA bottle conditioning and an expected great Pale Ale hope to bottle this weekend...

    Low attenuation after reharvesting yeast.

Update?? You may also want to post this in the "yeast and fermentation" forum- I'd guess some folks there would have some ideas?

    Low attenuation after reharvesting yeast.

How long after you took the slurry from the fridge until you pitched it ?

Why do all of my beers have a slight cardboard/mud taste?

How then do you mix your priming sugar without using the bottling bucket and 2) how does oxygen get into the beer when you are filling from the bottom up the air above the beer is staying above it??? (same reason you bottle with wand bottom to the top?

Suggestions for first brew: True Brew kit

Good Sanitation is a pre-requisite to great beer clean and sanitize anything and everything that may possibly come into contact with your wort

Suggestions for first brew: True Brew kit

I have never done that exact kit so YMMV I've done several (some very good btw) what I have found in mine (Porter, IPA, Pale Ale to name a few) Do not boil the extracts (LME/DME) add them slowly after flame out (though a bit (maybe 1/4 of one pkg of LME for the hops is OK) so long as you...

Why do all of my beers have a slight cardboard/mud taste?

I'm curious on the priming sugar also (if you're not already) put the priming sugar water into the bottling bucket then siphon into bucket with enough tubing to insure a coil in the bottom of the bucket (thus filling bottom up......(how I do it at least) I get a good mixture this way without any...

    Taste Test = HORRIBLE

To be fair , many folks (living in a NOW mode) want homebrew "yesterday" (hard to blame them) I've made many good brews from a "kit" , (mostly True Brew) and even had some ready to drink in couple weeks, I brewed a Porter even my wife liked (and she does not care for "dark beers" at all...

    Has anyone smoked hops?

Ironically I "thought" that was what this thread was about , adding some "smokey goodness" :mug: I've been thinking some apple/cherry mix would be nice

    Has anyone smoked hops?

Things that make you go "HMMMMMMM"

    Does the boil intensity matter?

Is that rule of thumb for DME and how would one figure If using LME (since it has water it's weight is more than malt unlike LME I think???)

    formula for %of alcohol

It seems this advice was "spot on" , while it fermented great (and I'd assume I way overpitched for this "beersperiment") and I'm not about to taste it (LOL) I did notice a "cider like aroma" which seemed to me to be quite strong for such a small amount (and pretty quickly as well)
