Finished up my first brew on the system. Feels like I'm starting over figuring out my efficiencies and boil off rate. I'll get it dialed in for the next brew.
Overall very happy with how it went.
Federal law (in the US) states it's legal to own a still but illegal to distill alcohol without having either a distilled spirits permit or a federal fuel alcohol permit. It's been illegal since the prohibition of alcohol in 1920. The prohibition ended in 1933 and in 1978 home brewing was...
I've got similar problems with mine being top heavy. I'm considering either a tank strap to mount it to a wall or building a portable stand out of wood in case I want to take it somewhere like the one shown here...
I've been planning to ferment and bottle from a 10gal keg for some time. I was eyeing the other systems but as you said they have been out for a few months now. Picked that up and everything for a bow tie spunding valve build. Thanks.
Beautiful setup! Really looking forward to seeing it complete.
You should probably stand that CO2 tank upright. Full CO2 tanks are partly filled with liquid CO2 and partly filled with CO2 gas and CO2 regulators are designed to regulate CO2 gas only. I could be wrong is someone else wants to...
Picked up a second hand brew-boss 15 gal system with COFI a few months ago. Just finished up the bench, 240v outlet and range hood. Have a few small things left but looking forward to the first indoor brew, just in time for winter.
It's about 95% complete. I picked up a second hand Brew-boss a few months back and finally got the range hood and 240v outlet installed for it. Finished up the bench and sealed it last weekend. I think all that's left is mounting the cooler and pump. Just in time for winter.
Maybe start with a checklist of what you want out of an electric system. If you find a ready made one that hits everything for a good price, go for it. If not or you just want to make your own, go that route.
I've had a 240 line pulled to the garage for a car charging station that was about $300. I've also pulled my own 240 in the basement which totalled about $180 for the 30 amp gfci breaker, outlet, conduit and cable. If your not comfortable pulling it yourself, you might get another estimate as...
One down, one to go. I decided to flip where the gas and beer lines mount for a different look. Some of the cuts are a little rough but overall I'm happy with how it turned out. Thanks for the guide.

I picked up a 15gal brew-boss second hand recently that I'm in the process of setting up. From what I've read and watched I would say it's my dream setup (time will tell). It's eBIAB with customizable automation for most of the process with wireless control from a tablet and voice notifications...
Brewed your version this morning with the only variation being less crystal as I was low (1lb vs 1.2lb). OG came out to 1.050 which I'm happy with. Plan to up the dry hop bill when I get there.
I see you've brewed a few variation of this. Any changes you'd make if you brewed again?
That's terrible. It reminded me of a quote by Steve Earle:
"The best stuff coming out of Nashville is all by women except for Chris Stapleton. The guys just wanna sing about getting ****** up. They're just doing hip hop for people who are afraid of black people. I like the new Kendrick Lamar...
Thank you. I was considering this in the near future but having trouble finding relevant threads on it. I'm considering using a 10 gallon keg for this as I don't have anything to ferment 10 gallons. I'll either serve from the keg like you plan to or fill bottles from the keg with a beer gun.
I've also been looking into using a spunding valve when my next keg arrives. I plan to transfer to my keg when I've still got a few points of fermentation left and throw a spunding valve on it skipping any sugar additions.
This thread had some good advice on natural carbing with a spunding...
