    Manners!

I have also learned that. Every day I spend some amount of time checking on the brew, planning what I want to try next, studying other peoples methods, or looking to buy new equipment.

    sanitizing copper tube chiller

I wouldn't leave it sit in a bucket of Star San for a prolonged time. I think in the wort for 15 minutes is probably the "healthiest" way. I personally make a spray bottle of SS to use for sanitizing on brew day and give it a good squirt and let it drip off a bit before I put it in the kettle...

    First time issues

To continue with my questions: I racked to the secondary last Friday and had airlock bubbles all day. It stopped that night and didn't move for 3 days. I check the air lock every morning afternoon and night. I know...just leave it alone. My curiosity gets the best of me. When I checked it...

Going to give it a another week and see how things are looking for bottling. Taste was good today when I took a sample during racking. It's amazing how much you learn...

    First time issues

I brewed my first batch on March 24th. It has been in the primary ever since. I have an issue with my SG and I believe that it is because I didn't have a full 5 gal when I started. And advice would be greatly appreciated. Racked to primary on the 24th OG was 1.064. High for the Autumn Amber Ale...

    First Timer Questions

I brewed my first batch last night! I learned a lot after I had it all sealed in the fermenter. It was a Autumn Amber Ale extract kit. After my boil I used a chiller and had it down to 80 degrees in about 10 minutes. After chilling and putting it in the fermenter I topped it off with about two...
