Best way to start this great hobby?

CL is awesome for the homebrewer. Got a free working frig for a fermentation chamber off CL. Scored lots of 22 oz bottles w/boxes free off CL. Recently got 2 glass carboys, 3 cases of 22oz bottles, 3 cases wine bottles, a bunch of assorted brewing gear (to much to list) for $75 off...

    UPS sucks donkey butt

Here's my FedEx horror story. I ordered from JC Whitney, paying for FedEx 2nd day service. FedEx gets the package to Anchorage (35 miles away), then decides I'm to "remote" to deliver to (even though a FedEx truck goes through my neighborhood daily) so they hand my package over to the...

Mr Beer - Read all about it and ask questions

I started marking my last few bottles filled so I can see if there is a difference in the batch between bottles. It's gonna suck if my St Pat's Stout fermenting now ends up being a St Pat's Cider. :D Don't dump, see if it'll age out.

The 3 MRB kits I've used so far didn't call for sugar in the boil. So I thought we were talking about priming sugar. Sorry for the confusion.............

    Austin Homebrew Supply

First order went well. My complaint if you wanna call it that, is sending me an email saying free shipping weekend, then when I call to order, I'm told Alaska? We can't do that. The email said free shipping weekend with no disclaimers. Now I get that it's an automated email, it's just...

Bottled the American Ale after a three week ferment. Smelt like cider. I'm planning a three week condition in the bottle @ room temp. I'll sample some, and see where it's at. Started a double batch of St Pat's Stout in a Lowes 5 gallon food grade bucket. Really cool to wake up...
