Dude!! I've been waiting 4 years for the pictures!! Did that weekend ever arrive? ;)

    Automating Gas Valves

True dat!! (regarding politics!) I'll double check to see if I have a screen in the inlet. If so, I'll dispense with the trap.

    Automating Gas Valves

BTW, I don't see a sediment trap... is that just for natural gas? It would seem that LPG would not likely carry sediment with it, but the instructions didn't state this explicitly. Thanks again!

    Automating Gas Valves

I figured that would likely work... I'm just paranoid around LPG... to many horror movies maybe ;) I was worried that continuous pressure on the valve (pushing and holding the pilot light button) might stress the valve-pipe connection. Thanks for the pic!! :)

    Automating Gas Valves

I'm "enhancing" my existing brew stand by adding a couple of Honeywell Continuous Pilot Combination Gas Valves (VR8200), which will be controlled by two Omega CN9000 temperature controllers working the 24V transformers on and off. I got the valves a couple of weeks ago, and now I'm looking to...

How to build a control panel (part 1)

Maybe I'm missing something, but one of the REAL values of using a PID is that it "learns" your system - it "learns" how much of a time lag there is between it turning on the heat and it "seeing" the results of it turning on that heat. It then "learns" how long it takes for the temperature to...

How to build a control panel (part 1)

I haven't received my box yet, but I'm sure eager to start planning the butcher job on the box I'm getting from Pioneer Breaker/electrical_parts!! ;^) I have a question - how thick is the metal in the door and sidewalls? I know that we've been talking about using a variety of punches and...

How to build a control panel (part 1)

B3 is still out of the 1/2" MPT SS Male Quick Disconnects, but I found them IN STOCK at Midwest Supplies. They're a bit more expensive in that Midwest doesn't combine the male and female into a discounted set, but the cost isn't THAT different - e.g., a few bucks here and there doesn't matter...

Show Me Your Wood Brew Sculpture/Rig

That "windscreen" you mentioned started out to be just a place for me to put a NAME on the rig - I even had wooden letters cut. But then I changed my mind, and now as you say, it's a place to hang stuff to dry, and will soon be where I hang the control panel, once its done. It is handy, that's...

Show Me Your Wood Brew Sculpture/Rig

...and you summed up VERY well why I went with a single wooden tier and just bought a couple of $100 pumps off of eBay. I'm old, I'm slow, and I have the reaction time of a sea cucumber... if I start hearing any wood creaking or cracking, even I can still stumble clear of the stand before I get...

How to build a control panel (part 1)

Thanks, Joety, I'll plan to use enough space to allow for knobs that are the same diameter as the switches themselves are wide. That looks to be 30mm, and that's pretty consistent with the diameter of the buzzer (29mm) from the same manufacturer. I'm brewing a Koelsh on this MLK holiday...

How to build a control panel (part 1)

Maybe it's because I can't upload a picture when replying? Forgive me as I stumble along... my cornie keg is missing about 4 liters from what it started with earlier this evening... ;)

How to build a control panel (part 1)

Here's a graphic of my layout so far... I'm worried that I have the selectors too close together in the pump control area. They'll fit behind the panel, no problem, but if the dials are bigger than the contact portion, I may have them too close... Not sure why it doesn't load. The link is...

How to build a control panel (part 1)

Yeah, I found the dimensions of the backside... I just can't find the diameter of the selector knob. I bought them through Kal's recommended eBay seller - electrical_parts, aka Pioneer Breaker. Part numbers PBC-SS22XTMA2-2 and PBC-SS22XTMA2-3.
